Jinhua Xiangyuan (JHXY) is a unique type of Chinese tea made from roasted oolong and subsequently fermented by Eurotiumcristatum. In this study, we investigated the potential benefits JHXY on obese rats induced high-sucrose high-fat diet. infusion was administered orally at 1.6 g/kg·bw (HI), 0.8 (MI), 0.4 (LI) per day for10 weeks. Weight gain significantly suppressed without affecting appetite. MI HI groups, led to significant reduction in triglycerides (TG), total cholesterol (TC), low-density lipoprotein (LDL-C), accompanied an increase high-density (HDL-C) levels. A white adipose tissue (WAT) index brown (BAT) were observed. group, morphology hepatocytes restored. The abundance Bifidobacterium elevated, whereas Desulfovibrio reduced. Long-term high-fat diet (HFD) will induce dysbiosis and a disturbance of intestinal homeostasis. Large yellow tea polysaccharide (LYP) has been shown to improve obesity-associated metabolic disease via modulation the M2 polarization. However, contribution LYP barrier impairment improvement mechanisms in obesity caused by an HFD are still not clear. In this study, we evaluated impacts on mucosal function microbiota composition HFD-feeding mice. Results exhibited that dietary supplement could ameliorate physical maintaining integrity elevating tight-junction protein production, strengthen chemical up-regulating levels glucagon-like peptide-1 increasing mucin-producing goblet cell numbers, enhance immune though suppressing subsets cytokines toward pro-inflammatory phenotypes. Moreover, reshaped constitution metabolism flora enriching probiotics produce short-chain fatty acids. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) has displayed preventive and therapeutic effects on many complex diseases. As natural biological macromolecules, TCM-derived antiobesogenic polysaccharides (TCMPOs) exhibit notable weight-loss are seen to be a viable tactic in the fight against obesity. Current studies demonstrate that antiobesity activity of TCMPOs is closely related their structural characteristics, which could affected by extraction purification methods. Therefore, extraction, structural-property correlations were discussed. Investigation mechanism also essential for improved application. Tea has been used medicinally and dietarily for thousands of years. polysaccharides (TPS), considered one the main bioactive components tea, show diverse health benefits. Yet it received far less attention than tea polyphenols. During recent decades, considerable researches have dedicated to TPS, including extraction, structural characteristics, potential bioactivity. Recent studies suggested that biological effects dietary TPS are subjected gut microbiota (GM) modulation. Thus, this review focuses on research advance structure characteristics degradation in gut, modulation diversity GM production short chain fatty acids (SCFAs), benefits through targeting GM.
