ABSTRACT Green-grey infrastructures' implementation has progressed significantly in cities around the globe for sustainable stormwater management. This review study conducted on green-grey optimization represented recent research trends, existing status, possible gaps, and future directions recommendations needed further improvements. The findings show that infrastructures got significant attention recently (after 2012) because of accessibility to computational resources development hydrological-hydraulic models algorithms. Furthermore, is mostly ten countries including China, USA Iran ranked first three places, respectively, delivering their advantages other with essential awareness knowledge. Most previous studies considered particular quantitative qualitative objectives these were at smaller retrofitting scales, therefore, need expand scope towards socio-ecological consideration larger areas or multi-stage planning, designing, implementation. Moreover, recommended consider stakeholders’ participation preliminary planning designing stages successful management approaches. Lastly, surrogate-based approaches instead traditional methods can overcome burden time future.

Cities worldwide are facing a significant threat of stormwater hazards caused by the increase in extreme downpours and urbanization. Meso-level urban management focuses on alleviating detrimental impacts flooding enhancing water resource utilization at block or community scale, typically through 1) specific policies rules; 2) catchment-scale scenario simulation, optimization evaluation; 3) group control measures implementation. It may effectively coordinate macro-level planning micro-level distributed facilities. This study conducts review Urban Stormwater Management (USM-M) with view to research publication trends, citation analysis, geographic spread subject category, as well content including temporal progression gaps. The Web Science database CiteSpace used for bibliometric analysis 66 articles from 2006 2021. results show that number USM-M topic generally has an upward trend over years. Whilst United States China leading this topic, European countries have diverse local dense cooperation. Research foci shifted theoretical frameworks multi-element subdivided topics technical roadmaps. Urban green spaces are crucial for improving the quality of life city residents because they provide numerous health advantages and foster overall wellness. However, previous research has concentrated only on individual goals overlooked inherent contradictions that arise when many objectives considered. This study devised a transdisciplinary framework to link optimization plant community characteristics with multiple objectives. In Beijing, we selected 22 urban utilized non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm III (NSGA-III) create Pareto-optimal model. model allowed us reveal relationships limitations between characterization factors three objectives: temperature comfort, landscape aesthetics, construction costs. Consequently, 91 solutions were obtained. The results indicate tradeoff exists building costs, this is influenced by interplay factors. We condensed four methodologies communities, each distinct objective orientations, while also considering preferences decision-makers. offer novel perspective conducting in multi-objective scenarios promote environmental sustainability.
