Abstract Introduction The acute phase of the COVID-19 pandemic impacted sexual function and mental health healthcare workers worldwide. However, extent to which health, including its relational dimension, was affected among different services protective coping strategies employed at that time is currently unclear. present study aimed investigate these two issues, exploring for first role meaning-centered on health. Method sample consisted 109 divided into groups: a high-exposure group (Intensive Care Unit service, 63 participants) low-exposure (gynecology, obstetrics, pediatrics services, 46 participants). One year after onset pandemic, participants completed an online survey comprised sociodemographic exposure variables, Depression Anxiety Stress Scale, New Sexual Satisfaction Scale-Short Form, Meaning-Centered Coping Scale. Results (1) High-exposure reported more anxiety depressive symptoms, (2) anxiety, depression stress were associated with decreased (3) higher decrease in their (4) levels coping, (5) predicted both groups. Policy Implications Various pose distinct risks regarding detrimental effects collective crises therefore they should be differently treated. promotion sensible policy improve preparedness contexts, especially vulnerable subpopulations.

As populations worldwide show increasing levels of stress, understanding emerging links among inflammation, cognition, and behavior is vital to human planetary health. We hypothesize that inflammation a multiscale driver connecting stressors affect individuals large-scale societal dysfunction and, ultimately, planetary-scale environmental impacts. propose “central map” hypothesis explain how the brain regulates impairs emotion, action. According our hypothesis, these interdependent inflammatory neural processes, inter-individual transmission environmental, infectious, behavioral stressors—amplified via high-throughput digital global communications—can culminate in multiscale, runaway, feed-forward process could detrimentally decision-making at scale, ultimately impairing ability address same stressors. This perspective provide non-intuitive explanations for behaviors relationships cells, organisms, communities potentially including population-level responses as diverse climate change, conflicts, COVID-19 pandemic. To illustrate elucidate its mechanistic underpinnings, we present mathematical model applicable individual test control, healing, implications transmission, intervention (e.g., lifestyle modification or medication), resilience. Future research needed validate model’s assumptions conclusions against empirical benchmarks expand factors/variables employed. Our illustrates need multilayered, stress mitigation interventions, measures, precision therapeutics, ecosystem design. analysis shows coordinated, interdisciplinary, international effort understand nature stress. Doing so would inform creation interventions improve individuals’ lives; enhance communities’ resilience stress; mitigate adverse effects on world.

Since the COVID-19 pandemic, researchers have been trying to identify which personal resources can contribute minimizing mental health costs in students incurred due restrictions that disrupted safety and predictability their academic lives. The aim of study was verify if how individual factors (resilience positivity) socio-environmental (social support nationality) allow prediction level perceived stress. University (n = 559) from Poland, Serbia, Italy were surveyed using Perceived Stress Scale (PSS-10), Brief Resilience (BRS), Positivity (PS), Interpersonal Support Evaluation List (ISEL-12). Personal resources—positivity, resilience, support—were found be positively interrelated significantly associated with stress levels. Additionally, gender nationality differentiated A general linear model (GLM) showed levels are best explained by positivity, tangible support, gender. results obtained strengthen students’ awareness protective role maintaining health, as well creation prevention-oriented educational activities. Nationality not a significant predictor stress, highlights universality examined predictors among university different countries suggests interventions aimed at enhancing these could benefit across cultural contexts.

Background The COVID-19 epidemic generated different forms of stress. From this period, there has been a remarkable increase in the quantity studies on stress conducted by scholars. However, few used bibliometric analyses to focus overall trends field. Purpose This study sought understand current status and development during COVID-19, as well main research drives themes Methods 2719 publications from Web Science(WOS) core repository were analyzed utilizing Co-Occurrence (COOC), VOS viewer, Cite Space software. features concluded analyzing publications, keywords, countries, institutions. Results results indicated that United States had largest number collaborated closely with other countries each other. University Toronto was most prolific institution worldwide. Visualization analysis demonstrated influence work, life, mental spiritual dimensions is hot topic. Among things, frequency keyword increased 2021 2022, researchers expanded their scope population; range subjects included children, nurses, college students, focusing types stress, emphasizing handling Conclusion Our findings reveal heat declined, forces come China. Additionally, subsequent should concern more coping methods while using quantitative qualitative future.

The current study compared symptom networks between individuals exhibiting resilience and non-resilience trajectories of adaptation two years after the COVID-19 outbreak. A population-representative sample (N = 906) reported symptoms anxiety depression in February-July 2020 (T1), March-August 2021 (T2), September 2021-February 2022 (T3), as well post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) adjustment (AD) at T3. After differentiating with using growth mixture modeling, network analyses were conducted to investigate group differences T3 (undirected directed). Despite non-significant (M 0.184, p .380; S 0.096, .681), distinctive qualitative characteristics observed networks. Difficulty relaxing was identified single root cause more diffused network, depressive additional starting points which interconnected into clusters clear-cut diagnostic boundaries. Sad mood demonstrated a transdiagnostic communicative role across common mental disorders. Our results contribute understanding anxiety-depression-PTSD-AD resilient non-resilient by highlighting consequences heterogeneity capacity development pandemic-related psychopathology.
