Abstract
SARS-CoV-2
is
the
cause
of
COVID-19.
It
infects
multiple
organs
including
respiratory
tract
and
gut.
Dynamic
changes
regional
microbiomes
in
infected
adults
are
largely
unknown.
Here,
we
performed
longitudinal
analyses
throat
anal
swabs
from
35
COVID-19
19
healthy
adult
controls,
as
well
10
non-COVID-19
patients
with
other
diseases,
by
16
S
rRNA
gene
sequencing.
The
results
showed
a
partitioning
into
3-4
categories
based
on
microbial
community
types
(I-IV)
both
sites.
bacterial
diversity
was
lower
than
controls
decreased
gradually
type
I
to
III/IV.
Although
dynamic
change
microbiome
complex
during
COVID-19,
synchronous
restoration
upper
gut
early
dysbiosis
towards
late
more
diverse
status
observed
6/8
mild
patients.
These
findings
reveal
previously
unknown
interactions
between

emphasis

lymphoid
tissue,

phagocytes.
From
a
clinical
perspective,
gives
possible
explanation
how
"gut
microbiota-innate
immunity"
axis
might
contribute
pathogenesis
autoimmune
diseases
like
rheumatoid
arthritis,
spondyloarthritis,
systemic
lupus
erythematosus.
