Gut microbiota interacting with an intact mucosal surface are key to the maintenance of homeostasis and health. This review discusses current state knowledge biofilm mode growth these communities, how in turn their disruptions may cause disease. Beyond alterations relative microbial abundance diversity, aim is focus on structure function, dispersion commensal bacteria, mechanisms whereby dispersed commensals become pathobionts. Recent findings have linked iron acquisition expression virulence factors gut that Causal studies emerging, common enteropathogen-induced disruptions, as well those reported for Inflammatory Bowel Disease colo-rectal cancer used examples illustrate great translational potential such research. These new observations shed light our attempts develop therapies able protect restore many disease conditions been dysbiosis.

Carnitine and choline are major nutrient precursors for gut microbiota-dependent generation of the atherogenic metabolite, trimethylamine N-oxide (TMAO). We performed randomized-controlled dietary intervention studies to explore impact chronic patterns on TMAO levels, metabolism renal excretion.

The gut microbiota has been linked to the emergence of obesity, metabolic syndrome and onset type 2 diabetes through decreased glucose tolerance insulin resistance. Uncontrolled can lead serious health consequences such as impaired kidney function, blindness, stroke, myocardial infarction lower limb amputation. Despite a variety treatments currently available, cases resulting complications are on rise. One promising new approach focuses modulating with probiotics, prebiotics, synbiotics fecal microbial transplantation. Differences in composition have observed preclinical animal models well patients diabetic nephropathy, retinopathy, neuropathy, cerebrovascular disease, coronary heart disease peripheral artery compared healthy controls. Severity dysbiosis was associated severity restoration probiotic administration human improvement symptoms progression. Characterizing different diseases determining causal relationship between be beneficial formulating therapeutic interventions for complications. In this review, we present most important findings regarding role chronic their underlying mechanisms.

Obesity is characterized by the excessive deposition of fat that may interfere with normal metabolic process body. It a chronic condition associated various syndromes, whose prevalence grossly increasing, and affects both children adults. Accumulation macronutrients on adipose tissues promotes secretion release inflammatory mediators, including interleukin-6 (IL-6), interleukin 1β, tumor necrotic factor-α (TNF-α), leptin, stimulation monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 (MCP-1), which subsequently reduce production adiponectin thereby initiating proinflammatory state. During obesity, tissue synthesizes releases large number hormones cytokines alter processes, profound influence endothelial dysfunction, situation formation atherosclerotic plaque. Endothelial cells respond to inflammation MCP-1, described as activation adhesion molecules leading proliferation transmigration leukocytes, facilitates their increase in atherogenic thromboembolic potentials. dysfunction forms cornerstone this discussion, it has been considered initiator progression cardiovascular diseases obesity. Overexpression subsequent reduction anti-inflammatory markers be link between obesity-induced dysfunction. Inhibition mechanisms management control obesity can assist reducing risks complications.

Abstract The ongoing worldwide increase in life expectancy portends a rising prevalence of age-related cardiovascular (CV) diseases the coming decades that demands deeper understanding their molecular mechanisms. Inflammation has recently emerged as an important contributor for CV disease development. Indeed, state chronic sterile low-grade inflammation characterizes older organisms (also known inflamm-ageing) and participates pivotally development frailty, disability, most degenerative including cerebrovascular afflictions. Due to activation inflammasomes reduced endogenous anti-inflammatory mechanisms, inflamm-ageing contributes leucocytes, endothelial, vascular smooth muscle cells, thus accelerating ageing atherosclerosis. Furthermore, promotes catastrophic athero-thrombotic complications by enhancing platelet reactivity predisposing plaque rupture erosion. Thus, its contributors or mediators might furnish targets novel therapeutic strategies could promote healthy conserve resources health care systems worldwide. Here, we discuss recent findings pathophysiology inflamm-ageing, impact these processes on diseases, results from clinical trials targeting components potential implementation advances into daily practice.

Microbes are found all over the globe with some few exceptions, including sterilized surfaces. They include normal flora that is nonpathogenic, which contribute to larger percentage, and pathogenic species few. Hence, activities of humans cannot be completely separated from microbes. Thus, many microbes have their way into fresh fruits vegetables a great source healthy diet for humans. The growing demand has necessitated production. production within shortest possible time meet placed them at higher risk contamination microbes, making safety consumers uncertain. Study sources type etiological agents isolated includes Bacillus cereus, Campylobacter jejuni, Clostridium botulinum, E. coli O157: H7, Listeria monocytogenes, Salmonella spp., Shigella, Staphylococcus, Vibrio cholera. In recent years, accumulating evidence has indicated the importance of gut microbiota in maintaining human health. Gut dysbiosis is associated with pathogenesis a number metabolic diseases including obesity, type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and cardiovascular (CVD). Indeed, CVD become leading cause death worldwide, especially developed countries. this review, we mainly discuss microbiota-involved mechanisms focusing on atherosclerosis hypertension, two major risk factors for serious CVD. Then, briefly prospects microbiota-targeted therapeutic strategies treatment future.
