Strategies for developing sustainable communities in higher education institutions

Higher education institutions (HEIs), based on learning, innovation, and research, can support the progress of civil society. Many HEIs are implementing sustainability practices projects to counteract climate change, often involving youth participation. The present study aimed at identifying how sustainable communities may be fostered in a university setting. To that end, questionnaire was administered engineering students start end course energy issues, assessing their perceptions using multi-criteria decision analysis. results showed placed greater value course. Fostering students’ participation in the implementation of the sustainable development goals at higher education institutions

Abstract Students are central actors at Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). Whereas much can be achieved by the active participation of students in sustainability affairs, it is unclear what current level students’ knowledge and engagement regarding United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) around world, as well which initiatives being undertaken HEIs on this matter. In order to address research gap, study investigated status aimed implementation UN SDGs. A comprehensive methodology was carried out means a bibliometric analysis, case studies, survey involving sample 602 from 53 countries. For data were analysed with support VOSviewer software, while quantitative analysis performed IBM SPSS Statistics. The shows that SDGs activities associated commitment addition, fact have taken course or discipline related SDGs, plays significant role process. Moreover, findings reveal graduate more familiar than their undergraduate peers. studies also demonstrate sustainable development (SD) through different pursued levels scopes. The international role of education in sustainable lifestyles and economic development

Improved economic growth and environmental protection are necessary to achieve the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals. This study examines relationship between people's education levels sustainable lifestyles in protecting environment growth, as expressed by increase household equivalent income. We conducted an original cross-sectional survey, which yielded 100,956 valid observations 37 countries. Comprehending e-waste limited collection and recycling issues in Europe: A comparison of causes

In today's technological age, the issue of e-waste management is becoming increasingly critical. Although several studies have detected and proposed innovative technologies to both enable increase recycling performance, end users often dispose obsolete products inappropriately. The present work aimed at investigating criteria that influence user behavior regarding recycling, starting from seven (i.e., intention recycle e-waste, awareness importance environmental concern, attitudes towards subjective norms, intention, WTP for recycling) identified in literature as most relevant. Interacting locally, acting globally: trust and proximity in social networks for the development of energy communities

In this article, we analyze the role of social capital in formation sustainable energy communities.
