The study explores the green synthesis and characterization of silver nanoparticles using Syzygium malaccense (L.) Merr. & L. M. Perry leaf extract (SM-AgNPs). UV-Visible spectroscopy confirmed reduction ions, showing an absorption peak at 406 nm. X-ray Diffraction (XRD) analysis revealed a face centered cubic structure with average particle size 23.55 Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS) zeta potential analyses indicated mean 40.1 nm surface charge −40.1 mV. FTIR identified functional groups involved in nanoparticle stabilization, while Energy Dispersive (EDX) content. Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) Atomic Force (AFM) provided detailed insights into morphology. Anticancer assays showed dose-dependent cytotoxicity against A549 cancer cells (LC50: 7.62 μg mL−1) minimal effects on L-132 normal 73.55 mL−1), highlighting selectivity. Additionally, SM-AgNPs increased Caenorhabditis elegans survival reduced paralysis under pathogenic bacterial exposure. This demonstrates biomedical applications, emphasizing selective anticancer activity antimicrobial vivo.

Abstract Stachys maritima is a species of plant belonging to the Lamiaceae, commonly known as common sea lavender. The extraction S. involves drying aerial parts, grinding them into powder, followed by with methanol. ST‐CQDs ( carbon quantum dots) were synthesized from extract via pyrolysis. An optimal synthesis condition 7 hours pyrolysis was determined yield high absorption in visible‐UV range. Characterization techniques such UV‐visible spectroscopy and TEM (Transmission Electron Microscopy) confirmed spherical homogeneous nature dots. methanol exhibited strong antioxidant activity DPPH (2,2‐Diphenyl‐1‐picrylhydrazyl) IC 50 value 0.114±0.001 mg/mL. Similarly, showed properties 0.69±0.03 Moreover, demonstrated antimicrobial against E. coli ATCC 25922 aureus 25923, effective MIC values 25 mg/mL 6.25 mg/mL, respectively. However, did not show effects tested microorganisms 25922, K. pneumoniae 13883, C. albicans 10231). Molecular docking simulations suggested that compounds derived (such 9,12,15‐octadecatrienoic acid palmitic acid) could interact effectively TNF‐α (Tumor Necrosis Factor Alpha), indicating potential anti‐inflammatory properties. This study highlights possesses potent activities, exhibit similar demonstrate pathogens. also suggest plant.

Abstract Dye, a major contaminant from the textile, paper, and pulp industries, is serious environmental human health hazard. Because of their low cost, friendliness, sustainability, semiconductor nanoparticles are among most effective photocatalysts for detecting dyes in wastewater. Quantum dots (QDs), particularly Carbon quantum (CQDs), have received lot attention due to unique optical electrical properties, making them excellent applications such as sensing detection. This paper describes microwave-assisted method synthesising CQDs ambient reaction conditions, providing fast, scalable, passivation-free alternative traditional methods. The were characterised using SEM, XRD, FTIR, UV–Vis spectrophotometry, photoluminescence, which confirmed uniform size distribution outstanding characteristics. had detection limits 0.413 ppm cresol red 0.847 purple, indicating great sensitivity selectivity over wide pH range. These findings propose new, sustainable, cost-effective tackling water pollution its detrimental effects on aquatic ecosystems, hence increasing use QDs restoration.

It is of great significance to develop carbon quantum dots (CQDs) using green sources, which are cheap, non-toxic and harmless, further expand their application scopes, e.g., fluorescence sensors, blue light screening. In this study, we have prepared Peperomia tetraphylla-based (PT-CQDs) with strong water solubility, good salt resistance, specific quenching reactions excellent optical properties via a simple one-step hydrothermal method. one application, PT-CQDs utilized as sensor due high selectivity sensitivity ferric ions (Fe3+). The limit detection (LOD) was 2.7 μmol·L−1. On the other hand, PT-CQDs/polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) films ultraviolet- (UV) high-energy (HEBL)-blocking were obtained. obtained exhibited weight blocking rate 100% in UV 80% HEBL. concentrations composites could also be controlled achieve desired light-blocking rate. addition, able absorb convert it forms light. These suggest potential applications development advanced screening sensors.
