Overweight and obesity are a worldwide pandemic affecting billions of people. These conditions have been associated with chronic low-grade inflammatory state that is recognized as risk factor for range somatic diseases well neurodevelopmental disorders, anxiety trauma- stressor-related affective disorders. We previously reported the ingestion high-fat diet (HFD; 45% fat kcal/g) nine weeks was capable inducing in rats association increased reactivity to stress anxiety-related defensive behavior. In this study, we conducted nine-week protocol induce rats, followed by investigation behavioral responses using elevated T-maze (ETM), numbers FOS-immunoreactive cells after exposure avoidance or escape task ETM, neuroinflammatory cytokine expression hypothalamic amygdaloid nuclei. addition, investigated stress-induced cutaneous thermoregulatory during an open-field (OF). Here demonstrated HFD intake induced obesity, abdominal pad weight, responses, proinflammatory cytokines altered avoidance- task-induced FOS-immunoreactivity within brain structures involved control neuroendocrine, autonomic, aversive stimuli, including basolateral amygdala (BLA) dorsomedial (DMH), paraventricular (PVN) ventromedial (VMH) Furthermore, exposed HFD, relative diet-fed responded tail skin temperature at baseline throughout apparatus. data consistent hypothesis induces neuroinflammation, alters excitability nuclei controlling stressful enhances anxiety-like responses.

Nature-based solutions including urban forests and wetlands can help communities cope better with climate change other environmental stressors by enhancing social-ecological resilience. Natural ecosystems, settings, elements affordances also individuals become more personally resilient to a variety of stressors, although the mechanisms underpinning individual-level nature-based resilience, their relations are not well articulated. We propose 'nature-based biopsychosocial resilience theory' (NBRT) address these gaps. Our framework begins suggesting that refer both: a) person's set adaptive resources; b) processes which resources deployed. Drawing on existing nature-health perspectives, we argue nature contact support build maintain biological, psychological, social (i.e. biopsychosocial) resilience-related resources. Together can: i) reduce risk various (preventive resilience); ii) enhance reactions stressful circumstances (response resilience), and/or iii) facilitate rapid complete recovery from stress (recovery resilience). Reference three supports integration across familiar pathways involving harm reduction, capacity building, restoration. Evidence in theory, potential interventions promote issues require further consideration discussed.

The amygdala plays a major role in the processing of physiologic and behavioral responses to stress is charactered by gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA)-mediated high inhibitory tone under resting state. Human animal studies showed that lead hyperactivity amygdala, which was accompanied removal control. However, contribution stress-induced neuropsychiatric diseases, such as anxiety mood disorders, still dubious. In this review, we will summarize various structural functional alterations including GABA receptors expression, GABAergic transmission synaptic plasticity. It may provide new insight on neuropathologic neurophysiological mechanisms diseases.

The basolateral amygdalar complex (BLA) is implicated in behaviors ranging from fear acquisition to addiction. Optogenetic methods have enabled the association of circuit-specific functions uniquely connected BLA cell types. Thus, a systematic and detailed connectivity profile projection neurons inform granular, type-specific interrogations warranted. Here, we apply machine-learning based computational informatics analysis techniques results circuit-tracing experiments create foundational, comprehensive map. analyses identify three distinct domains within anterior (BLAa) that house target-specific with distinguishable morphological features. We brain-wide targets BLAa domains, as well posterior BLA, ventral basomedial, lateral nuclei. Inputs each nucleus also are identified via retrograde tracing. data suggests connectionally unique, domain-specific associated behavior networks.

Humans are social animals: isolation hurts people both psychologically and physically. Strong, positive bonds help to live longer healthier lives compared with their more isolated peers. Opioid use disorder is associated feelings of isolation, an increased risk suicide and, at the community level, lower capital. I propose a psychobiological mechanistic explanation that contributes association between opioid isolation. The endogenous system plays central role in formation maintenance across life span has been investigated primarily through framework brain theory attachment. In primates, maternal-infant bonding play impaired by administration naltrexone (an antagonist), humans, chronic opioids appears be particularly (relative other drugs) corrosive close relationships. Social may development exacerbation disorder. Taken together, work on brain's suggests possible basis for bidirectional causal links Evaluation this hypothesis would benefit from longitudinal psychosocial neuropsychopharmacological investigations.
