The synthesis of highly acidic metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) has attracted significant research interest in recent years. We report here the design a strongly Lewis MOF, ZrOTf-BTC, through two-step transformation MOF-808 (Zr-BTC) secondary building units (SBUs). Zr-BTC was first treated with 1 M hydrochloric acid solution to afford ZrOH-BTC by replacing each bridging formate group pair hydroxide and water groups. resultant further trimethylsilyl triflate (Me3SiOTf) ZrOTf-BTC taking advantage oxophilicity Me3Si group. Electron paramagnetic resonance spectra Zr-bound superoxide fluorescence N-methylacridone provided quantitative measurement acidity an energy splitting (ΔE) 0.99 eV between πx* πy* orbitals, which is competitive homogeneous benchmark Sc(OTf)3. shown be active solid catalyst for broad range important organic transformations under mild conditions, including Diels–Alder reaction, epoxide ring-opening Friedel–Crafts acylation, alkene hydroalkoxylation reaction. MOF outperformed Sc(OTf)3 terms both catalytic activity lifetime. Moreover, we developed ZrOTf-BTC@SiO2 composite as efficient continuous flow catalysis. Zr centers feature identical coordination environment based on spectroscopic evidence. displayed exceptionally high turnover numbers (TONs) 1700 2700 326 acylation conditions. have thus created sites MOFs via triflation constructed MOF@SiO2 catalysis transformations.

Tetrodotoxin (TTX) is a crystalline, weakly basic, colorless organic substance and one of the most potent marine toxins known. Although TTX was first isolated from pufferfish, it has been found in numerous other organisms few terrestrial species. Moreover, tetrodotoxication still an important health problem today, as no known antidote. poisonings were commonly reported Japan, Thailand, China, but today risk poisoning spreading around world. Recent studies have shown that TTX-containing fish are being regions Pacific Indian Ocean, well Mediterranean Sea. This review aims to summarize pertinent information available date on structure, origin, distribution, mechanism action analytical methods used for detection TTX, organisms, symptoms poisoning, incidence worldwide.

(1) Background: Polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) are known for their ability to protect against numerous metabolic disorders. The consumption of oily fish is the main source PUFAs in human nutrition and commonly used supplement production. However, seafood an overexploited that cannot be guaranteed cover global demands. Furthermore, it not consumed by everyone ecological, economic, ethical, geographical taste reasons. growing demand natural dietary sources suggests current nutritional insufficient meet needs, less will be. Therefore, crucial find sustainable acceptable all, meeting world population’s needs. (2) Scope: This review aims evaluate recent evidence about alternative plant essential acids, focusing on long-chain omega-3 (n-3) PUFAs. (3) Method: A structured search was performed PubMed engine select available data from interventional studies using non-animal origin. (4) Results: Several promising have emerged literature, such as algae, microorganisms, plants rich stearidonic acid GM plants. costs, acceptance adequate formulation deserve further investigation.

Actinomycetes have been proven to be an excellent source of secondary metabolites for more than half a century. Exhibiting various bioactivities, they provide valuable approved drugs in clinical use. Most microorganisms are still untapped terms their capacity produce metabolites, since only small fraction can cultured the laboratory. Thus, improving cultivation techniques extend range metabolite producers accessible under laboratory conditions is important first step prospecting underexplored sources isolation novel antibiotics. Currently uncultured actinobacteria made available by bioprospecting extreme or simply habitats other soil.
