Abstract Macauba ( Acrocomia aculeata ) is a Brazilian palm tree whose oil in the pulp rich oleic acid and carotenoids. However, its physiological function remains unknown. This study aimed to investigate effects of macauba (MPO) on metabolic link between lipid metabolism lifespan using Caenorhabditis elegans C. ). were treated with 5.0 mg/mL MPO for analyzing triglyceride glycerol accumulation, fatty profile, gene expression oxidative proteins under cold (4°C) stress conditions, analysis conditions such as (4°C), heat (37°C), (paraquat) stress. significantly suppressed fat accumulation increased (a lipolysis index) at low temperature (4°C). was accompanied by decreased mRNA levels genes involved lipogenesis spb‐1 pod‐2 β‐oxidation acs‐2 nhr‐49 mobilization hosl‐1 aak‐2 Additionally, treatment modulated pools temperatures that saturated shifted profile long‐chain acids. Moreover, effect abolished fat‐7 mutants, whereas both fat‐1 contribute, least part, MPO‐elevated survival conditions.
