With rising concerns about environmental sustainability, examining the economic-environmental nexus is essential. This study investigates relationship between economic growth (GDP), renewable energy consumption (RENC), urbanization (URB), and foreign direct investment (FDI) with Norway’s ecological footprint from 1990 to 2023. Guided by Environmental Kuznets Curve (EKC) hypothesis, we aim understand how these factors influence impact over time. Using an Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) model, captures both short- long-term effects of variables on footprint, model stability confirmed through Cumulative Sum Squares (CUSUM) test. The findings reveal a U-shaped EKC pattern, where initial reduces but beyond certain GDP threshold, pressures increase. Renewable shown lower significantly, supporting sustainability goals. Conversely, FDI associated increased impact, potentially due resource-intensive projects. These insights underscore need for balanced policies that harmonize development preservation. Policymakers are encouraged foster green FDI, prioritize investments, implement sustainable urban planning maintain trajectory toward sustainability.

Energy and economic policies should include the intricate interconnections among urbanization, trade openness, industry, utilization of renewable energy. This study investigates connections nations involved in Belt Road Initiative (BRI). The employed panel econometric techniques, including DSUR, Cup-BC, CUP-FM, to document independent variables' elasticities. Study findings suggest that urbanization is initially negatively correlated with energy consumption (REC) because rising demand for energy, particularly non-renewable sources. Urbanization beyond a certain threshold fosters showcasing positive effects Renewable Certificates (RECs). influence on use has changed throughout time. Furthermore, there an initial relationship between openness REC, indicating adopting liberalized encourages clean Nevertheless, over time, this connection becomes less strong, suggesting critical moment when promotion may lead increase resources. Industrialization first stimulates need traditional sources but ultimately using U-invert demonstrates interplay industrialization patterns, emphasizing flexible policies. Our assists policymakers stakeholders effectively addressing sustainability concerns related

The present need for an energy transition in the wake of a global climate catastrophe led to “EU green deal” which requires system all countries. This study aimis survey aims identify strategies within such based on trend analyses and reports available technologies implementation. Based literature analysis over 300 pieces (of feasibility studies technology implementation with focus Central Europe) statistical levels “energy intensity” (E/GDP) covering three decades countries worldwide, diagnosis is made that steady improvements several dedicated technological areas can be were could still increased future, as required by targets. Across distinct fields economy, concrete options are portrayed: Energy infrastructure, Smart grids, Transmission grid management, Electricity storage, Heat Industrial waste heat; linked diagnosed long-term trends emerging from “Global Change Data Base” GCDB, allowing sectorial so-called intensity, was not yet delivered until now time series literature. main findings show economic sectors clusters most appropriate achieve targets while safeguarding social aspects sustainability.

Cross‐regional energy dispatch project is a crucial strategy for countries to reduce transportation costs and achieve optimal allocation. This research constructs quasi‐natural experiment based on the West‐to‐East Natural Gas Pipeline Project in China. It finds that cross‐regional significantly reduces firms’ intensity, firms economically developed regions high‐polluting benefit more from it. The mechanism test shows dispatching enterprises’ coal consumption, increases proportion of cleaner optimizes their consumption structure. accelerates exit inefficient enterprises development efficient enterprises. enhances green innovation activities renewal production equipment. Governments should encourage cooperation use distribution resources.

High-quality development represents a fundamental shift in China’s economy from scale and speed to quality efficiency. In this transition, environmental, social, governance (ESG) practices are not only closely integrated with China's strategy but have also become core standard for measuring quality. Nevertheless, research on how ESG specifically promote high-quality Chinese enterprises remains limited. Based the environmental Kuznets curve (EKC) theory framework, study uses data Huazheng Index 2009 2022 employs fixed effect models, mediation heterogeneity analysis examine specific impact of corporate multiple dimensions. The results show that there is “U-shaped” relationship between listed companies green total factor productivity (GTFP). Initially, improving may temporarily suppress GTFP, as levels further improve, they exhibit significant positive GTFP. Corporations significantly boost by alleviating financing constraints promoting technological innovation, although direct advancement relatively western regions industries such manufacturing, electricity, heat, gas, water production supply, wholesale retail, information transmission, software, technology services, effects GTFP particularly evident. these findings, it recommended governments financial institutions collaborate credit policies increase support technologies. Additionally, education resource use optimization should be strengthened, especially agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry, fisheries, exchange technologies experiences encouraged.
