Abstract Our article explores how migrant food delivery couriers work around platform algorithmic control to argue that gaming the system is a form of everyday resistance. Drawing on data collected in Turin, Italy, between August 2020 and June 2021, we examine how, one hand, through gamification, platforms construct as entrepreneurial productive subjects; other show disarticulation repurposing these management mechanisms both address survival needs signal still fledgling, but potentially vibrant, space labour activism. By conceptualising gamification another weapon capital's arsenal labour, acknowledge entanglement workers’ agency subjectivity. We thus bring two‐fold contribution radical geography: link “production subjectivity”, drawing Italian Operaista intellectual tradition; posit subversive generative potential couriers’ geographies.

This pioneering study evaluates the digital divide and advances in virtual education (VE) e-learning research Global South Countries (GSCs). Using metadata from bibliographic World Bank data on development (R&D), we conduct quantitative bibliometric performance analyses evaluate connection between R&D expenditures VE/e-learning GSCs. The results show that ‘East Asia Pacific’ (EAP) spent significantly more (R&D) achieved highest scientific literature publication (SLP), with significant impacts. Other GSCs’ expenditure was flat until 2020 (during COVID-19), when funding increased, achieving a corresponding 42% rise SLPs. About 67% of ‘Arab States’ (AS) SLPs 60% citation impact came produced global north other GSCs regions, indicating high dependence. Also, 51% high-impact were ‘Multiple Country Publications’, mainly non-GSC institutions, collaboration impact. EAP, AS, ‘South Asia’ (SA) regions experienced lower disparity. In contrast, less developed countries (LDCs), including ‘Sub-Sahara Africa’, ‘Latin America Caribbean’, ‘Europe (Eastern) Central Asia’, showed few dominant higher divides. We advocate for increased educational to enhance innovative GSCs, especially LDCs.

For decades, the technology industry enjoyed relatively easy access to essential natural resources—minerals, water, and energy—needed for electronic devices data processing. However, increased US-China tensions, trade tariffs, resource nationalism, ecological damage are making it harder secure these resources. The rising demands of new developments, such as critical minerals electric vehicles (EVs) energy Artificial Intelligence (AI), adding challenge. Against this backdrop, article argues that an ongoing race resourcing is giving rise a wave 'technological peripheralisation', namely mounting pressures on areas in both Global South North become mere providers resources technological development. In current conjuncture, peripheralisation often leads 'eco-imperialism', which outsources undermines local ways relating nature name 'transition' technologies. Local forms resistance, however, opposing top-down keep from becoming peripheries. Natural disasters, such as COVID-19, may have reinforced the digital divide among various population groups. Drawing on regulatory focus theory, this study proposes a Gaussian process model to capture dynamics of 'second-level divide' over 14 months during natural crisis, namely COVID-19 pandemic. The findings indicate that pandemic reduced mobile users across different age Additionally, analysis identifies habit formation factor could mitigate divide. This offers recommendations reduce and promote inclusion for older people in post-pandemic world, should society face recurrence or another outbreak future.
