Sexual abuse is one of the most dangerous phenomena that can overwhelm any society. Children with ID seem to be among groups highest risks for sexual abuse/maltreatment. Introduction

Emerging research suggests that people with disabilities experience an increased risk of sexual violence. However, few studies have examined the relationship between disability types and various forms violence, involving either physical or nonphysical force.

Methods

This cross-sectional study used nationally representative data from years 2011–2017 National Survey Family Growth among women aged 18–44 years. Analyses were conducted in March 2020–June 2021. Using binary multinomial logistic regression models, lifetime violence force at first intercourse modeled as a function type (sensory, physical, cognitive, ≥2 disabilities). Models also controlled for relevant demographic confounders.

Abstract Background An essential aspect of human well-being is positive sexual health outcomes. However, the issue adverse outcomes continues to be a major public concern, particularly for women with disabilities in sub-Saharan Africa (SSA). Therefore, this current scoping review mapped studies conducted last twenty-nine years on from these five dimensions: activity, contraceptive use, autonomy, violence and risky behaviour, whilst seeking identify state knowledge address study gaps SSA. Women with disability experience significantly more violence and abuse than their nondisabled peers. Efforts to implement, evaluate, scale-up strategies prevent against women are rapidly expanding, but we know less about “what works” disability.
