Background:
Staffing
shortages
across

healthcare

Objective:
This
study
investigated
the
rates
of
workplace
trauma
exposure,
probable
post-traumatic
stress
disorder
(PTSD)
and
alcohol
other
drug
use
among
Australian
public
safety
personnel
(PSP).

Suicide

Throughout
the
COVID-19
pandemic,
healthcare
workers
(HCWs)
have
been
exposed
to
highly
stressful
situations,
including
increased
workloads
and
exposure
mortality,
thus
posing
a
risk
for
adverse
psychological
outcomes,
acute
stress,
moral
injury,
depression
or
anxiety
symptoms.
Although
several
reports
sought
identify
types
of
coping
strategies
used
by
HCWs
over
course
pandemic
(e.g.,
physical
activity,
religion/spirituality,
meditation,
alcohol),
it
remains
unclear
which
factors
may
influence
HCWs’
choice
these
strategies.
Accordingly,
using
qualitative
approach,
purpose
present
study
was
