Background: Parents and children in LGBTQ+ parent families face unique stressors (i.e., minority stress), but also possess resources positive identity aspects) related to their family identity. Empirical evidence theory suggest that these aspects are situated on the individual-, couple-, family-level may be associated with key outcomes, including child health, functioning, school-related outcomes. A systematic synthesis a theoretical placement currently lacking. The aims of review outlined this protocol thus (1) map according multiple levels system, (2) synthesize associations Methods: We will conduct PRISMA-conform mixed-methods review. Studies retrieved using multi-tiered search strategy, database searches (PsycInfo, PubMed, Scopus, Web Science), cited literature searches, authors’ publication lists, study requests. Mixed-methods follow parallel-results convergent design, where quantitative results synthesized via meta-analysis qualitative thematic synthesis. Conclusions: Our proposed add understanding functioning advance social inclusion families.

Abstract Two decades have passed since Ilan Meyer first published the minority stress theory (MST) model. Since then, scholars used MST extensively to expand field's understanding of LGBTQ+ populations' experiences with and mental health. To better represent these experiences, combined other theories in empirical articles, but a theoretical model has yet be proposed that unifies this work. In current paper, we seek acknowledge extend work by proposing Temporal Intersectional Minority Stress (TIMS) The TIMS incorporates Intersectionality historical, generational, developmental time from Life Course Theory account for sociopolitical cultural changes occurred creation original We hope will help related stress, invite further development occur using as new framework consider.

Abstract Aims Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer people (LGBTQ) are at increased risk of traumatization. This systematic review aimed to summarize data regarding the post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) for LGBTQ their subgroups. Methods Medline, Scopus, PsycINFO EMBASE were searched until September 2022. Studies reporting a comparative estimation PTSD among population general (i.e., heterosexual/cisgender), without restrictions on participants’ age setting enrolment, identified. Abstract Objective This study tested whether exposure to minority stress and structural stigma across multiple levels of the family system were associated with two indicators well‐being (life satisfaction, depressive symptoms) in LGBTQ+ parents 19 European countries. Background Minority (i.e., identity‐based resulting from systemic oppression) hostile legal environments, prejudicial social attitudes) are heterogeneous, yet well‐documented risk factors reduced within populations. However, a comprehensive assessment stratifying both concepts individual, couple, level) is lacking for parents. Method Using data EU LGBTI Survey 2019, sample 3808 countries was analyzed. Associations between self‐reported indicators, objective sociodemographic predictors, using non‐linear, machine learning‐based techniques (gradient boosted decision tree models). Results Supporting preregistered hypotheses, individual‐level individual‐ family‐level predicted life satisfaction symptoms. Couple‐level but not symptoms, neither. Trans those facing economic burdens particularly vulnerable low well‐being. Conclusions Exposure stigma, highly stigmatizing regions, parents' Future research should examine role validated measures.

To mark 15 years of the European Journal Psychotraumatology, editors reviewed past 15-year research on trauma exposure and its consequences, as well developments in (early) psychological, pharmacological complementary interventions. In all sections this paper, we provide perspectives sex/gender aspects, life course trends, cross-cultural/global systemic societal contexts. Globally, majority people experience stressful events that may be characterized traumatic. However, definitions what is traumatic are not necessarily straightforward or universal. Traumatic have a wide range transdiagnostic mental physical health limited to posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Research genetic, molecular, neurobiological influences show promise for further understanding underlying risk resilience trauma-related consequences. Symptom presentation, prevalence, course, response experiences, differ depending individuals' age developmental phase, sex/gender, sociocultural environmental contexts, socio-political forces. Early interventions potential prevent acute reactions from escalating PTSD diagnosis whether delivered golden hours weeks after trauma. prevention still scarce compared treatment where several evidence-based complementary/ integrative exist, novel forms delivery become available. Here, focus how best address negative outcomes following trauma, serve individuals across spectrum, including very young old, include considerations ethnicity, culture diverse beyond Western, Educated, Industrialized, Rich, Democratic (WEIRD) countries. We conclude with providing directions future aimed at improving well-being impacted by around world. The EJPT webinar provides 90-minute summary paper can downloaded here [http://bit.ly/4jdtx6k].

ABSTRACT White matter (WM) microstructure is differentiated in relation to sex/gender, psychosexuality, and, among transgender people, gender‐affirming hormone (GAH) use. Prior research focused on Western samples, which limits generalizability other populations. Here, diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) was used assess WM a Thai sample ( N = 128) of straight cisgender men, women, gay and sao praphet song (i.e., transfeminine individuals assigned male at birth sexually attracted men). Sao were further grouped by GAH Groups compared fractional anisotropy (FA), mean diffusivity (MD), axial (AD), radial (RD) using whole‐brain tract‐based spatial statistics (TBSS). FA, AD, RD examined via multivariate analysis covariance across microstructural indices participant groups. A significant pattern the feminine‐ from masculine‐identifying groups irrespective sex suggested tissue organization greater latter bilateral cingulum, anterior corona radiata, left corpus callosum, right superior longitudinal fasciculus, forceps minor, corticospinal tracts. TBSS analyses reinforced that differed gender identity various regions. Among , use associated with lower regional suggesting less bilaterally radiata. The findings aligned prior studies indicating cross‐population differentiation
