Abstract Mounting evidence highlights the high prevalence of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) among correctional workers. The current analysis draws on survey response data to present a social profile workers in province Manitoba ( n = 580), Canada, who screened positive for PTSD 196). Researchers illuminate the mental health plight of correctional workers by demonstrating a high prevalence disorders among group. Yet, structural barriers persist in preventing staff from accessing treatment and support—barriers that may result more prolonged pronounced symptoms. We consider perspectives on how policies at organizational level can foster better well-being outcomes for employees. Data are drawn open-ended survey responses provincial territorial employees ( N = 870) Canada. Canadian correctional workers (CWs) experience substantial challenges with mental health, but prevalence estimates have been limited across provincial and territorial services. Participating CWs from all 13 services (n = 3740) self-selected to complete an online health well-being survey assessing sociodemographic characteristics symptoms of several disorders. Participants worked as officers, community operations (e.g., probation officers), institutional program administrators managers), or regional headquarters administrators, management superintendents). Across Canada, participants screened positive for one more disorders (57.9%), differences (ps < 0.05). Introduction The inherent nature of work in correctional services can have negative effects on worker mental health and well-being. Methods current study, a replication, analyzes survey data collected from provincial territorial workers staffed six regions across Canada ( n = 192). Specifically, participants were asked at the end an extensive well-being open-ended question requesting any additional feedback or information. Abstract Background Mental health frameworks, best practices, and the well-being of public safety personnel in Canada are topics increasing interest to both researchers organizations. To protect improve worker mental health, different training programs have been implemented serve this population. The Road Readiness (R2MR) regimen is one such program specialized build cultural awareness reduce stigma, mitigate cumulative impacts exposures potentially psychologically traumatic events among personnel. However, limited research has conducted evaluate effectiveness R2MR, especially correctional workers. Methods current study analyzed 307 open-ended survey responses four (4) questions about R2MR garnered from 124 Canadian provincial territorial workers between 2018–2020 reveal their understandings perceptions training, identify what learned skills they found challenging or easy implement.
