Abstract Introduction The purpose of this study was to evaluate an intervention designed encourage therapists in a municipality mental health services team collaborate with their clients when writing journal notes. part low‐threshold service for children, adolescents and parents. offered individual therapeutic sessions parents, as well family sessions. documented encounters the clients' electronic records. Childhood sexual violence is a global problem that has far-reaching impacts on children, families and communities. Whilst there been significant commitment action to tackle this issue, research with young people consistently draws attention gaps limitations. Emerging research, practice-based evidence, tells us survivors of childhood hold essential knowledge expertise about the of, solutions for addressing, form violence. Yet, despite widespread recognition children have right 'be heard', in practice are limited examples where come together collectively collaborate professionals inform influence policy or interventions field. This discussion paper begins by reflecting barriers to, opportunities for, participatory engagement survivors. Child welfare services in Norway aim to provide a comprehensive and holistic policy practice approach. This includes range of in-home support measures parents their children resolve challenges. While recent research has identified youth more often being consulted, involvement own is limited should be done facilitate meaningful participation. article presents findings from recently completed qualitative study focusing specialist CWS Multisystemic Therapy (MST), Parent Management Training – Oregon (PMTO), Functional Family (FFT). A total 78 participants contributed this (21 youth, 27 parents/care givers, 30 therapists/CWS workers). Un/heard, un/informed, un/involved: Meaningful participation for young people receiving child welfare services DOI

Abstract Children have the right to be heard in child protection proceedings. However, social work, young people receiving protective services are often perceived as vulnerable and need of protection, an attitude which prevents from participating making important decisions that affect their lives. In this article, participation welfare (CWS) is explored through qualitative interviews with thirty-three aged fourteen nineteen, CWS Nova Scotia, Canada. A thematic analysis findings highlighted four overarching themes—un/heard, un/informed, un/involved, coping strategies—to describe youths’ experiences service providers. The suggest involving children casework, including regarding placement, has potential foster trust care providers, improve cooperation access formal informal supports, enhance well-being during after CWS.

Background: Children in pediatric oncology report unmet needs related to communication and information about the illness, care involvement, psychosocial support. Supporting whole family involves challenges, with a risk that children’s voices are not heard above those of adults. Article 12 UNCRC has been catalyst supporting their right participate processes affect them. The aim this study was explore how children cancer siblings experienced participation family-centered support intervention, Family Talk Intervention (FTI). Methods: Interviews were held 35 (ill siblings) from 26 families after having completed FTI. A combined deductive inductive qualitative content analysis undertaken, guided by Lundy model child participation. It is generally recognized in research that participation lacking social work and essential to improve.
