Background:
Plastic
pollution
driven
by
human
activities
has
become
a
critical
global
issue
for
health.
A
growing
literature
demonstrates
that
micro-
and
nanoplastics
(MNPs)
contain
endocrine-disrupting
chemicals
(EDCs)
other
harmful
compounds
enter
the
body
easily,
acting
as
agonists
or
antagonists
wide

of
hormonal
receptors,
promoting
endocrine
toxicity.
Endocrine
disruption

MNPs
occurs
through
aberrant
activation/inhibition

signaling
