Cartilage degeneration is a key feature of aging and osteoarthritis, characterized by the progressive deterioration joint function, pain, limited mobility. Current treatments focus on symptom relief, not cartilage regeneration. Mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs) offer promising therapeutic option due to their capability differentiate into chondrocytes, modulate inflammation, promote tissue This review explores potential MSCs for regeneration, examining biological properties, action mechanisms, applications in preclinical clinical settings. derived from bone marrow, adipose tissue, other sources can self-renew multiple cell types. In cartilage, they aid regeneration secreting growth factors cytokines that enhance repair immune responses. Recent studies show restore integrity, reduce improve although translation remains challenging limitations such as viability, scalability, regulatory concerns. Advancements MSC delivery, including scaffold-based approaches engineered exosomes, may effectiveness. Potential risks, tumorigenicity rejection, are also discussed, emphasizing need optimized treatment protocols large-scale trials develop effective, minimally invasive therapies

Abstract Neurological injuries and diseases are a leading cause of disability worldwide, underscoring the urgent need for effective therapies. Neural regaining enhancement therapies seen as most promising strategies restoring neural function, offering hope individuals affected by these conditions. Despite their promise, path from animal research to clinical application is fraught with challenges. Neuroengineering, particularly through use biomaterials, has emerged key field that paving way innovative solutions It seeks understand treat neurological disorders, unravel nature consciousness, explore mechanisms memory brain’s relationship behavior, tissue engineering, interfaces targeted drug delivery systems. These including both natural synthetic types, designed replicate cellular environment brain, thereby facilitating repair. This review aims provide comprehensive overview biomaterials in neuroengineering, highlighting functional across basic practice. covers recent developments biomaterial-based products, 2D 3D bioprinted scaffolds cell organoid culture, brain-on-a-chip systems, biomimetic electrodes brain–computer interfaces. also explores artificial synapses networks, discussing applications modeling microenvironments repair regeneration, modulation manipulation integration traditional Chinese medicine. serves guide role advancing neuroengineering solutions, providing insights into ongoing efforts bridge gap between innovation application.

Bone injury is a prevalent condition in clinical therapy that can lead to significant functional impairments and substantially disrupt the quality of life for patients. However, there has been limited breakthrough achieving neuralized vascularized rapid bone regeneration. In this study, we collaborated with recombinant humanized collagen 1 (rhCOL1), native composite inorganic salts (NBCISs), methacrylated silk fibroin (SilMA), marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) construct biomimetic organic bio-mineralized multifunctional organoids repair defects, regeneration within just six weeks rabbits. We first determined optimal concentration SilMA (10%) by comprehensively evaluating crosslinking, operability, BMSC proliferation. The rhCOL1 NBCIS mixture was prepared using ratio 3:7, reference bone, subsequently added create biomineralized microenvironments NCSilMA. Similarly, proportions were optimized based on their effects compressive modulus, swelling, degradation. As result, successfully constructed hydrogel scaffold defect repair, characterized excellent biodegradability, appropriate strength, good biocompatibility, osteoinductive biological function. Finally, BMSC-loaded NCSilMA (organoids) achieved regeneration, up-regulated osteogenic genes enhanced cell colonization, collagen, polysaccharide deposition.

Extracellular matrices (ECMs) play a key role in nerve repair and are recognized as the natural source of biomaterials. In parallel to extensively studied tissue-derived ECMs (ts-ECMs), cell-derived (cd-ECMs) also have capability partially recapitulate complicated regenerative microenvironment native tissues. Notably, cd-ECMs can avoid shortcomings ts-ECMs. Cd-ECMs be prepared by culturing various cells or even autologous vitro under pathogen-free conditions. And mild decellularization achieve efficient removal immunogenic components cd-ECMs. Moreover, more readily customizable desired functional properties. These advantages garnered significant attention for potential neuroregenerative medicine. As promising biomaterials, bring new hope effective treatment peripheral injuries. Herein, this review comprehensively examines current knowledge about characteristics their mechanisms interaction with regeneration, particular focus on preparation, engineering optimization, scalability The applications from distinct cell sources reported tissue highlighted summarized. Furthermore, limitations that should addressed outlooks related clinical translation put forward well.

Pueraria is a time-honored food and medicinal plant, which widely used in China. Puerarin, the main component extracted from pueraria, has variety of pharmacological characteristics. In recent years, puerarin received increasing attention for its significant hepatoprotective effects, such as metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease, alcohol-related hepatic carcinoma. This paper explores effects on various diseases through multiple mechanisms, including inflammation factors, oxidative stress, lipid metabolism, apoptosis, autophagy. Due to restricted solubility, pharmacokinetic studies revealed that low bioavailability. However, combining with novel drug delivery systems can improve Meanwhile, very toxicity high safety, providing solid foundation further. addition, this discusses puerarin's clinical trials, highlighting unique advantages.
