Abstract Digital ecosystems (DEs), driven by information and communication technologies, are reshaping the way firms create, deliver, capture value across interconnected networks. These dynamic loosely coupled facilitate collaboration innovation among firms, customers, suppliers, partners. While research on digital transformation (DT) has often focused internal firm changes, influence of DEs set capabilities at ecosystem, partner, focal levels remains underexplored. This paper addresses this gap adopting a (DCs) framework to investigate which required engaging in DEs. Through systematic literature review, we identify 17 DCs essential for adapt ecosystem‐based interactions. Our findings reveal that success requires co‐create co‐deliver through new leverage data, foster coopetition, align operations with broader ecosystem. We propose multi‐level highlights critical role interfirm offers actionable insights navigating increasingly environments. Lastly, present five future directions address gaps different ecosystem research.

Digitalization, with its potential to enhance the openness of client–contractor knowledge collaboration (KC) at front end complex engineering projects, is gaining traction among project scholars and practitioners. Despite this growing interest, actors still struggle bring client contractor experts into an open, digitally enabled collaborative space where they can freely access cocreate project-related knowledge. In context, our case study explores KC in front-end phase oil gas projects Norway understand why achieve digital age. Based on qualitative analysis, we developed a model that displays two intertwined aspects giving rise tensions between sharing protection. First, show these stem from fragmented awareness expertise collaborating organization. Second, highlight how intrainstitutional complexity, instantiated coexisting conflicting logics action, underlies divergent beliefs behavior toward digitalization. We offer novel insights management literature by showcasing organizational heterogeneity, terms institutions, challenges organizations' pursuit during phase.

Abstract This paper proposes and tests a new conceptual framing for franchisee performance that draws on institutional complexity to explore the interaction of corporate, market, relational logics performance. Extant research corporate market explain performance; however, this does not individual in complex environments such as Base‐of‐the‐Pyramid (BoP) markets where may be more important, thereby limiting explanations how outlets perform. Drawing data from network 58 franchise context Kenya, we conduct configurational analysis related sales outcomes. We leverage fuzzy‐set qualitative comparative (fsQCA) map out conditions under which franchisees exhibit higher Results show three distinct configurations can lead increased Our results paint nuanced picture combinations factors result success with relevance BoP beyond.

Purpose This paper examines the qualities of situations wherein hybrid professionals in knowledge-intensive public organizations (KIPOs) vary their displays conflicting institutional logics. Specifically, it when individual researchers a traditionalist academic- and an academic performer logic. Design/methodology/approach Analysis is grounded logics perspective founded on qualitative interviews with university recurrently exposed to performance measurement management. While previous research has mostly studied such matters by emphasizing variation between researchers, this study points out importance Such arguably also broadly valuable since adds our understanding about hybridity KIPOs how design use systems relation them.
