Purpose: Despite significant advances in interventional treatment, myocardial infarction (MI) and subsequent cardiac fibrosis remain major causes of high mortality worldwide. Liquiritin (LQ) is a flavonoid extract from licorice that possesses variety pharmacological properties. However, to our knowledge, the effects LQ on after MI have not been reported detail. The aim research was explore potential role mechanism MI-induced damage. Methods: models were established by ligating left anterior descending branch coronary artery. Next, rats orally administered once day for 14 days. Biochemical assays, histopathological observations, ELISA, Western blotting analyses then conducted. Results: improved heart appearance ECG, decreased weight index reduced levels cardiac-specific markers such as CK, CK-MB, LDH, cTnI BNP. Meanwhile, infarct size hemodynamic parameters LVEDP, LVSP ±dp/dt max . Moreover, H&E staining showed attenuated pathological damage caused MI. Masson alleviated cell disorder while reducing collagen deposition. also oxidative stress inflammation. demonstrated significantly down-regulated expressions Collagen I, III, TGF-β 1, MMP-9, α-SMA, CCL5, p-NF-κB. Conclusion: protected against following improving function, attenuating inflammatory response, which may be associated with inhibition CCL5 expression NF-κB pathway. Abstract Introduction Qi‐Fu‐Yin has been used to treat Alzheimer's disease (AD) in China. Oxidative stress recognized as a factor AD progress. The natural edible characteristics of Chinese herbs have led more and people to study them as an alternative product antibiotics. In this study, crude extracts Glycyrrhiza radix Atractylodes macrocephala (abbreviated GRAM) with glycyrrhizic acid content not less than 0.2 mg/g were selected evaluate the effects GRAM on immune antioxidant capacity model animals. Thirty 21-day-old male Leghorn chickens weighed randomly assigned one three groups ten animals each. treatments comprised a control group (CON), in which saline was injected at day 31, 33, 35, LPS-treated (LPS), LPS (0.5 mg/kg BW) finally group, (G-L) GRAM-treated diet (at 2 g/kg) fed from 21 35 injection 35. results diarrhea grade serum measurement showed that had obvious symptoms, ROS MDA significantly increased, T-AOC decreased. oxidative stress successfully established. indexes feeding decreased levels pro-inflammatory factors TNF-α, IL-1β, IL-6 (p < 0.05) increased anti-inflammatory IL-4 IL-10 enzymes GSH-Px CAT 0.05). resisted influence ileum morphology, liver, organs maintained normal index values for organs. summary, confirmed antidiarrheal effect GRAM, improved by regulating inflammatory cytokine enzyme activity poultry.

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic autoimmune disease that primarily manifests with symptoms such as heat and toxin. Background Clinical evidence suggests that pulmonary fibrosis (PF) and heart failure (HF) often co-exist; however, the specific impact of PF on HF remains underexplored. This gap in understanding complicates management treatment patients with PF. Objectives To investigate effects cardiac function myocardial using a mouse model evaluate therapeutic potential wogonin, flavonoid compound known for its anti-PF properties. Methods A was established via intratracheal administration bleomycin (BLM). Starting day 8 post-BLM treatment, wogonin (50 mg/kg) intraperitoneally administered every 2 days weeks. Cardiac assessed echocardiography, while evaluated through Masson staining. In vitro , H9C2 cardiomyocytes were exposed to CoCl or H O 24 h without (20 μM) treatment. Apoptosis DNA damage markers analysed immunofluorescence, immunoblotting, Comet assay. The interaction between Sirt1 examined biotin-affinity pulldown assays molecular docking simulations. Results Mice exhibited significant dysfunction fibrosis. Wogonin markedly improved ejection fraction attenuated mice. Mechanistic studies revealed alleviated cardiomyocyte apoptosis by upregulating downregulating γ-H2AX expression. Docking simulations predicted forms stable complex hydrogen-bonding hydrophobic interactions, which further validated assays.
