Accumulating evidence indicates that gut microbiota closely correlates with the tumorigenesis of digestive system cancers (DSCs). However, whether causality between and DSCs exists is unknown. Genome-wide association study (GWAS) summary statistics for bidirectional two-sample Mendelian randomization (MR) analysis were utilized to assess DSCs. Sensitivity analyses performed evaluate robustness our results. We found genus Eggerthella (OR = 0.464, 95%CI: 0.27 0.796, p 0.005) was negatively associated risk gastric cancer. The genetically predicted Lachnospiraceae FCS020 group 0.607, 0.439 0.84, 0.003) correlated a lower colorectal cancer, Turicibacter 0.271, 0.109 0.676, protective factor liver In reverse MR, regulated relative abundance specific strains microbiota. comprehensively screened using MR identified several microbial taxa Our discoveries are beneficial development novel markers microbiota-modifying therapeutics DSC patients.

The gut microbiome is closely related to gastrointestinal (GI) cancer, but the causality of with GI cancer has yet be fully established. We conducted this two-sample Mendelian randomization (MR) study reveal potential causal effect microbiota on cancer.Summary-level genetic data were derived from MiBioGen consortium and Dutch Microbiome Project. Summary statistics six cancers drawn United Kingdom Biobank. Inverse-variance-weighted (IVW), MR-robust adjusted profile score (MR-RAPS), weighted-median (WM) methods used evaluate link between cancer. In addition, we performed sensitivity analyses reverse MR analyses. We identified associations 21 bacterial taxa (values p < 0.05 in all three methods). Among them, phylum Verrucomicrobia (OR: 0.17, 95% CI: 0.05-0.59, = 0.005) retained a strong negative association intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma after Bonferroni correction, whereas order Bacillales 1.67, 1.23-2.26, 0.001) positive pancreatic Reverse indicated that was associated 17 microbial methods, among inverse colorectal family Clostridiaceae1 0.91, 0.86-0.96, by correction. Our implicates effects specific potentially providing new insights into prevention treatment through bacteria.

The occurrence and progression of tumors are often accompanied by disruptions in the gut microbiota. Inversely, impact microbiota on initiation cancer is becoming increasingly evident, influencing tumor microenvironment (TME) for both local distant tumors. Moreover, it even suggested to play a significant role process immunotherapy, contributing high specificity therapeutic outcomes long-term effectiveness across various types. Probiotics, with their generally positive influence microbiota, may serve as effective agents synergizing immunotherapy. They crucial activating immune system inhibit growth. In summary, this comprehensive review aims provide valuable insights into dynamic interactions between probiotics, cancer. Furthermore, we highlight recent advances mechanisms using probiotics improve By understanding these complex relationships, unlock innovative approaches diagnosis treatment while optimizing effects

The gut microbiome can play a crucial role in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) progression through the enterohepatic circulation, primarily acting via metabolic reprogramming and alterations hepatic immune microenvironment triggered by microbe-associated molecular patterns (MAMPs), metabolites, fungi. In addition, shows potential as biomarker for early HCC diagnosis assessing efficacy of immunotherapy unresectable HCC. This review examines how microbiota dysbiosis, with varied functional profiles, contributes to HCCs different etiologies. We discuss therapeutic strategies modulate including diets, antibiotics, probiotics, fecal transplantation, nano-delivery systems, underscore their an adjunctive treatment modality

Gut microbiota(GM) have been proven associated with lots of gastrointestinal diseases, but its causal relationship Gastroesophageal reflux disease(GERD) and Barrett's esophagus(BE) hasn't explored. We aimed to uncover the relation between GM GERD/BE potential mediators by utilizing Mendelian Randomization(MR) analysis.

Abstract Background Prostate cancer (PCa) is becoming the most common malignancy in men worldwide. We investigated effect of astragaloside IV combined with PESV on gut microbiota and metabolite PCa mice process treating PCa. Methods Nude were genetically modified to develop tumors characteristic The treatment involved administration a combination peptides derived from scorpion venom (PESV). Feces collected for both 16 S rDNA metabolic analysis. Fecal supernatant was extracted used fecal transplantation mice. Tumor development observed nude histopathology examined, expression inflammatory factors AGE-RAGE axis tissues analyzed. Results treated Astragaloside showed significant reduction tumor volume weight, stabilization metabolites. At Genus level, differences Porphyromonas , Corynebacterium Arthromitus Blautia differential metabolites PA16_016_0 Astragaloside+ Vitamin A acid Nardosinone a-Nortestoster D-Pantethine Hypoxanthine Pregnenolone cinnamic Pyridoxa Cirtruline Xanthurenate . There correlation between After transplantation, growth effectively suppressed Notably, mRNA protein levels receptor advanced glycation end products (RAGE) significantly decreased. Furthermore, factors, namely NF-κB, TNF-α, IL-6, attenuated. Conversely, upregulation RAGE led increased inflammation reversed Conclusion could treat by intervening composition targeting RAGE.

Primary liver cancer (PLC), which includes intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (iCCA) and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), has the highest incidence of all types in Thailand. Known etiological factors, such as viral hepatitis chronic disease do not fully account for country's unusually high incidence. However, gut-liver axis, contributes to carcinogenesis progression, is influenced by gut microbiome. To investigate this relationship, fecal matter from 44 Thai PLC patients 76 healthy controls were subjected whole-genome metagenomic shotgun sequencing then analyzed marker gene-based assembly based methods. Results revealed greater microbiome heterogeneity iCCA compared HCC controls. Two Veillonella species found be more abundant samples could distinguish Conversely, Ruminococcus gnavus was depleted samples. High genus counts group associated with enriched amino acid biosynthesis glycolysis pathways, while phospholipid thiamine metabolism pathways characterized Blautia counts. These findings reveal distinct landscapes dysbiosis among warrant further investigation potential biomarkers.

NASH could be characterized as necro-inflammatory complication chronic hepatic steatosis.
