The red blood cell distribution width-to-albumin ratio (RAR) is a novel biomarker that concurrently reflects nutritional status and inflammation. Unlike traditional cancer risk markers focus on either inflammation or nutrition independently, RAR provides more integrated assessment of these interrelated processes, making it promising tool for prediction. This study aims to investigate the relationship between digestive tract tumors (DTT), with particular emphasis colorectal (CC) gastric (GC). explored DTT using data from 32,953 participants in 2005-2018 National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES). Although weighted multivariate logistic regression models were used adjust potential confounders, residual confounding selection bias may still affect accuracy generalizability findings, potentially influencing causal inferences. Additionally, subgroup analyses, interaction tests, restricted cubic splines performed further examine associations. A two-sample Mendelian randomization analysis was also conducted DTT. Among participants, 234 diagnosed DTT, including 215 cases CC 19 GC. Higher levels significantly associated an increased (OR = 1.48, 95% CI 1.04-2.11, P < 0.027), but not GC 1.33, 0.45-3.94, 0.60). non-linear association observed. indicated albumin negatively 0.84, 0.73-0.97), while erythrocyte width (RDW) showed no significant association. reveals risk, indicating serve as valuable stratification. For individuals abnormal values, integration supplementary screening tools-such fecal occult testing, colonoscopy, additional biomarkers-could enhance early detection rates CC. strategy would allow healthcare providers effectively identify high-risk tailor personalized prevention strategies.

Respiratory sarcopenia is associated with poor outcomes, yet effective biomarkers for risk stratification remain limited. This study investigates the associations between complete blood count (CBC)-derived inflammatory biomarkers, including neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), neutrophil-monocyte-to-lymphocyte (NMLR), and systemic inflammation response index (SIRI) both all-cause cardiovascular mortality in patients respiratory sarcopenia. We conducted a cohort analysis of 1,673 adults possible using data from National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) 2007 to 2012, follow-up through December 31, 2019. Possible was assessed via peak expiratory flow rate (PEFR). Multivariable Cox regression models evaluated NLR, NMLR, SIRI, adjusted demographic, socioeconomic, health-related covariates. Additional CBC-derived (PLR, dNLR, MLR, SII) were analysed, mediation albumin's role as partial mediator mortality. Over median 116 months, 263 deaths occurred, 68 causes. Elevated SIRI significantly increased risks emerged strongest predictor, hazard ratios (HRs) 1.65 (95% CI, 1.23–2.22) 3.18 1.83–5.53) Albumin partially mediated relationship (12.1%). are sarcopenia, demonstrating highest predictive power. Integrating into clinical assessments may aid identifying high-risk patients, allowing targeted interventions.

Neoadjuvant chemoimmunotherapy (nCIT) has shown promise in treating early-stage triple-negative breast cancer (eTNBC), but predictive biomarkers for pathological response and prognosis remain poorly defined. This study aimed to explore complete prognostic factors eTNBC patients treated with nCIT. We retrospectively analyzed 112 who underwent surgery after nCIT at Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center between June 2019 2023. Pathological was assessed using Miller-Payne grade. Clinicopathological features hematologic markers were univariate multivariate logistic regression or Cox regression, as well Kaplan-Meier survival curves. Objective rate (ORR), (pCR), disease-free (DFS) evaluated. Nomograms predicting pCR DFS constructed based on significant risk the systemic inflammatory index (SIRI). Higher baseline lymphocyte counts (P=0.004) independently associated a higher rate, while elevated monocyte (P=0.006), neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (P=0.005), platelet-to-lymphocyte (p = 0.005), SIRI (P=0.037), immune-inflammation (P=0.029), preoperative (P=0.010) lower rate. (P= 0.009) correlated shorter DFS, (P=0.019) predicted longer DFS. incorporating showed high accuracy Hematologic markers, particularly SIRI, are cost-effective reliable predictors of treatment efficacy undergoing nCIT, helping clinicians develop personalized strategies. https://www.medicalresearch.org.cn/, identifier MR-44-24-046099.
