Abstract Fish microbiome plays an important role in maintaining host homeostasis, with many bacterial functions directly linked to fitness. research is advancing fast, especially the context of aquaculture where several stressors are known disrupt stability host‐associated bacteria, prompting dysbiosis. Therefore, understanding signatures dysbiosis different fish mucosae and their association such fundamental set up efficient health‐monitoring strategies, as well sound objective working hypothesis for future research. Herein, we reviewed studies that employed culture‐independent approaches assess effects disease, chemotherapeutics water quality changes on diversity metrics gut, skin gill microbiomes. We conclude increases abundance potential pathogens community structure reliable indicators fish. The gut emerged being highly susceptible salinity chemotherapeutics, whereas external microbiota seems be more caused by disease temperature changes. Our analysis showed treatments tetracyclines florfenicol likely elicit severe compared quinolones disinfectants cause lesser disturbance microbiome. Bacterial diseases also frequently (enteritis particular), parasitic far less deleterious. Regarding impacts quality, only reasonably studied. Recent developments metagenomics, include a fast turn‐around time results, can used detect homeostasis during critical periods production, assisting management.

Abstract Given the growing global demand for seafood, it is imperative to conduct a comprehensive study on prevalence and persistence patterns of pathogenic bacteria viruses associated with specific seafood varieties. This assessment thoroughly examines safety products, considering diverse processing methods employed in industry. The importance understanding behavior foodborne pathogens, such as Salmonella typhimurium, Vibrio parahaemolyticus, Clostridium botulinum, Listeria monocytogenes , human norovirus, hepatitis A virus, emphasized by recent cases gastroenteritis outbreaks linked contaminated seafood. analysis United States globally, particular emphasis health concerns posed consumers. Ensuring crucial since directly relates consumer preferences sustainability, food safety, provenance, availability. review focuses assessing frequency, growth, durability infections that arise during It utilizes next‐generation sequencing identify responsible these illnesses. Additionally, analyzes preventing intervening while also forthcoming challenges ensuring microbiological products. evaluation emphasizes significance industry promptly responding evolving offering current information hazards future consumption patterns. To ensure continuous sustainable address possible threats.

The present study investigated the effects of dietary lactic acid (LA) supplementation on growth performance, intestinal digestive/antioxidant enzymes’ activities, gene expression, and bacterial communities in common carp, Cyprinus carpio. Four diets were formulated to contain 0 g/kg LA (control), at 2.5 (2.5LAC), 5 (5LAC), 10 (10LAC) offered fish over a period 56 days. results showed that improved performance feed efficiency fish. All treatments exhibited significant elevations trypsin chymotrypsin whereas lipase, amylase, alkaline phosphatase activities 5LAC 10LAC treatments. heat shock protein 70, tumor necrosis factor-alpha, interleukin-1 beta, defensin expressions, highest expression was observed treatment. Additionally, treatment significantly increased lysozyme Lactobacillus sp. population intestine fish, values Aeromonas Vibrio populations decreased treatments, lowest mucin2 mucin5 hepatic reduced glutathione content, increased, peroxidase, reductase, malondialdehyde In conclusion, is recommended for carp feeding improve rate, antioxidant capacity, health.

Excessive use of antibiotics in aquaculture causes residues aquatic animal products and harms human health. However, knowledge florfenicol (FF) toxicology on gut health microbiota their resulting relationships economic freshwater crustaceans is scarce. Here, we first investigated the influence FF intestinal Chinese mitten crabs, then explored role bacterial community FF-induced antioxidation system homeostasis dysbiosis. A total 120 male crabs (48.5 ± 4.5 g) were experimentally treated four different concentrations (0, 0.5, 5 50 μg/L) for 14 days. Responses antioxidant defenses changes assessed intestine. Results revealed that exposure induced significant histological morphology variation. also enhanced immune apoptosis characteristics intestine after 7 Moreover, enzyme catalase activities showed a similar pattern. The was analyzed based full-length 16S rRNA sequencing. Only high concentration group marked decrease microbial diversity change its composition days exposure. Relative abundance beneficial genera increased day 14. These findings illustrate to could cause dysfunction dysbiosis which provides new insights into relationship between invertebrates following persistent pollutants.

Dietary protein quality plays a key role in maintaining intestinal mucosal integrity, but also modulates the growth of luminal microorganisms. This work assessed effect dietary sources on performance, gut morphology, and microbiome Nile tilapia. Four isonitrogenous isolipidic diets comprising equivalent amounts supply derived from either PLANT, ANIMAL, INSECT, or BACTERIAL (bacterial biomass) were fed to triplicate groups fish (IBW: 12 g) for 46 days. Fish ANIMAL showed significantly higher weight gains than those PLANT INSECT (p < 0.05). Relative abundance at phylum level that Bacteroidetes, Fusobacteria, Proteobacteria more abundant phyla tilapia's intestine, while Cetobacterium was most representative genus all treatments. Interesting patterns observed correlation between amino acid intake species abundance. Metabolism prediction analysis amine polyamine degradation pathways are modulated depending diets. In conclusion, different modulate relationship bacteria functional intake.
