Arisaema cum bile (known as Dan Nanxing in Chinese, DNX) is a herbal medicine used for treating febrile seizure (FS), which commonly prepared by using Arisaematis Rhizoma and animal bile. This study was designed to explore the optimal processing time of DNX its potential mechanism on anti-FS effect. A total 17 volatile organic compounds (VOCs) were characteristic ones distinguish different fermentation stages gas chromatography-ion mobility spectrometry (GC-IMS), such 2-heptanone monomer, heptanal monomer. with 3 months had an obvious pattern VOCs others, could be regarded time. The Enterococcus Staphylococcus might core bacteria production VOCs. Additionally, (2.8 g/kg, p.o.) reversed hot water bath-induced FSs rats, indicated increased latency decreased duration It also prevented hippocampal neuronal loss, GABAAR, GRIA1 expression. At genus level, relative abundance Akkermansia enriched after treatment. These findings suggested that process DNX, possess effect through regulating neurotransmitter disorder gut microbiota.

Gut bacteria are linked to neurodegenerative diseases but the risk factors beyond microbiota composition limited. Here we used a pre-clinical model of multiple sclerosis (MS), experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE), identify microbial factors. Mice with different genotypes and complex microbiotas or six combinations synthetic human were analysed, resulting in varying probabilities severe neuroinflammation. However, presence relative abundances suspected failed predict disease severity. Akkermansia muciniphila, often associated MS, exhibited variable associations EAE severity depending on background microbiota. Significant inter-individual course variations observed among mice harbouring same Evaluation functional characteristics host immune responses demonstrated that immunoglobulin A coating index certain before onset is robust individualized predictor development. Our study highlights need consider community networks host-specific bidirectional interactions when aiming

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the most frequently occurring type of liver tumor and considered one common primary malignant neoplasms. The prognosis for HCC dismal because its complicated etiology high level medication resistance. Immunotherapy presently regarded as effective therapeutic options HCC; nevertheless, disturbance intestinal flora, immunotherapy shows low antitumor efficacy. An increasing body research indicates that particularly Akkermansia muciniphila ( A. ), vital treatment tumors. Studies have demonstrated diminished effectiveness in cancer patients associated with a reduction levels, suggesting levels significantly enhance efficacy immunotherapy. functions gut probiotic can treat prevent wide range illnesses, including cancer. Consequently, preserving abundance enough to lower danger developing disorders. In this review, we critically evaluate current on , focus biological properties functions. different illnesses treats were then discussed, way it works This review aims give novel plan well theoretical foundation improving

Multiple sclerosis (MS) is an autoimmune disease of the central nervous system, affecting nearly 2 million people worldwide. The etiology MS multifactorial: Approximately 30% risk genetic, which implies that remaining ~70% environmental, with a number factors proposed. One recently implicated factor for composition gut microbiome. Numerous case-control studies have identified changes in microbiota (pwMS) compared healthy control individuals, and more recent animal models begun to identify causative microbes underlying mechanisms. Here, we review some these mechanisms, specific focus on role host genetic variation, dietary inputs, microbial metabolism, particular emphasis short-chain fatty acid tryptophan metabolism. We put forward model where, individual genetically susceptible MS, diet can synergize as potent environmental modifiers possibly progression, diet-dependent metabolites serving key mechanism. also propose taxa may divergent effects individuals carrying distinct variants alleles or other polymorphisms, consequence gene-by-gut interactions. Finally, taxa, especially those exert their through metabolites, are highly dependent intake. What emerges complex multifaceted interaction has been challenging disentangle human studies, contributing divergence findings across heterogeneous cohorts differing geography, preferences, genetics. Nonetheless, this provides individualized, yet tractable, how regulate susceptibility potentially progression disease. Thus, conclude prophylactic therapeutic modulation microbiome prevent treat will require careful personalized consideration genetics, baseline composition, inputs.

In recent years, there has been a growing interest in the concept of “gut–brain axis”. addition to well-studied diseases associated with an imbalance gut microbiota, such as cancer, chronic inflammation, and cardiovascular diseases, research is now exploring potential role microbial dysbiosis onset development brain-related diseases. When function intestinal barrier altered by dysbiosis, aberrant immune system response interacts nervous system, leading state “neuroinflammation”. The microbiota–brain axis mediated inflammatory immunological mechanisms, neurotransmitters, neuroendocrine pathways. This narrative review aims illustrate molecular basis neuroinflammation elaborate on gut–brain virtue analyzing various metabolites produced microbiome how they might impact system. Additionally, current will highlight sex influences these mechanisms. fact, hormones brain–gut microbiota at different levels, central enteric one, enteroendocrine cells. Background Akkermansia muciniphila , as a probiotic, is negatively linked to IBD, obesity, and T2DM. The aim of this study was comprehensively assess the research status over past decade explore relationships between bacterium various health-related aspects. Methods Tools VOSviewer, Bibliometrix, CiteSpace were used analyze aspects including publication metrics, contributors, institutions, geography, journals, funding, keywords. Results Over decade, on has demonstrated consistent annual growth in number publications, with notable peak 2021. China led totaling 151, whereas United States exhibited higher centrality value. Among 820 institutions involved research, University California (from States) Chinese Academy Sciences China) occupied central positions. Willem M. De Vos ranked at top, 12 publications 1,108 citations. journal GUT, which had 5,125 citations an Impact Factor 23.0 2024, most highly cited. cited articles deepened understanding bacterium’s impact human health, spanning from basic translational medicine. Thirty-nine high-frequency keywords grouped into five clusters, illustrating ’s associations metabolic diseases, chronic kidney disease, gut-brain axis, intestinal inflammation, Bacteroidetes-Firmicutes shifts. Conclusion Given anti-inflammatory gut-barrier-strengthening properties, it holds promise therapeutic for disorders, inflammatory conditions. Therefore, future should its potential further by conducting clinical trials, elucidating mechanisms action, investigating efficacy safety diverse patient populations.

Akkermansia muciniphila (A. muciniphila) has gained recognition as a pioneering probiotic, exhibiting considerable potential to enhance immune conditions across both humans and animals. The health benefits of A. are attributed its various components, including outer membrane proteins (PilQ Amuc_1100), secreted (P9 AmTARS), extracellular vesicles, metabolites such SCFAs, ornithine lipids, γ-aminobutyric acid, cobalamin, inosine. dynamic control the mucus layer by plays crucial role in regulating intestinal mucosal immunity. Furthermore, modulates function interacting with macrophages, dendritic cells, T lymphocytes, Paneth cells. Increasing abundance gut through nutritional strategies represents safe effective means augment function. Various polyphenols, oligosaccharides, polysaccharides have been shown elevate levels this bacterium, thereby contributing favorable immunoregulatory outcomes. This paper delves into latest research advancements related probiotic mechanisms provides an overview current understanding how responds nutrients. These insights offer theoretical foundation for utilization immunoregulation.
