Abstract Purpose This study will focus on 4T1 cells, a murine mammary adenocarcinoma cell line, as the primary research subject. We aim to investigate inhibitory effects and mechanisms of propranolol epithelial–mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer aiming elucidate this phenomenon at miRNA level. Methods In study, EMT effect was observed through vitro animal experiments. For screening potential target miRNAs downstream genes, second-generation sequencing (SGS) bioinformatics analysis were conducted. Melanoma arises from pigment-producing cells called melanocytes located in the basal layers of epidermis skin. Cytoglobin (CYGB) is a ubiquitously expressed hexacoordinated globin that highly enriched and frequently downregulated during melanomagenesis. Previously, we showed non-thermal plasma (NTP)-produced reactive oxygen nitrogen species (RONS) lead to formation an intramolecular disulfide bridge would allow CYGB function as redox-sensitive protein. Here, investigate cytotoxic effect indirect NTP treatment two melanoma cell lines with divergent endogenous expression levels, explore role determining outcome. Our findings are consistent previous studies supporting cytotoxicity mediated through production RONS leads apoptotic death cells.
