Free radicals are formed as a part of normal metabolic activities but neutralized by the endogenous antioxidants present in cells/tissue, thus maintaining redox balance. This balance is disrupted certain neuropathophysiological conditions, causing oxidative stress, which implicated several progressive neurodegenerative diseases. Following neuronal injury, secondary injury progression also caused excessive production free radicals. Highly reactive radicals, mainly oxygen species (ROS) and nitrogen (RNS), damage cell membrane, proteins, DNA, triggers self-propagating inflammatory cascade degenerative events. Dysfunctional mitochondria under stress conditions considered key mediator neurodegeneration. Exogenous delivery holds promise to alleviate regain In this regard, natural synthetic have been evaluated. Despite promising results preclinical studies, clinical translation therapy treat diseases remains elusive. The issues could be their low bioavailability, instability, limited transport target tissue, and/or poor antioxidant capacity, requiring repeated high dosing, cannot administered humans because dose-limiting toxicity. Our laboratory investigating nanoparticle-mediated enzymes address some above issues. Apart from being endogenous, main advantage catalytic mechanism action; hence, they significantly more effective at lower doses detoxifying deleterious effects than nonenzymatic antioxidants. review provides comprehensive analysis potential therapy, challenges translation, role nanoparticles/drug systems play addressing these challenges.

Enhanced oxidative stress is closely related to aging and impaired metabolic health influenced by diet-derived nutrients energy. Recent studies have shown that methionine restriction (MetR) longevity in organisms from yeast rodents. The effect of MetR on lifespan extension mediated partially through a reduction stress. Methionine metabolism involved the supply methyl donors such as S-adenosyl-methionine (SAM), glutathione synthesis polyamine metabolism. SAM, metabolite, activates mechanistic target rapamycin complex 1 suppresses autophagy; therefore, can induce autophagy. In process metabolism, hydrogen sulfide (H2S) produced cystathionine-β-synthase cystathionine-γ-lyase; however, increased H2S production this pathway. Similarly, increase polyamines spermidine, which are addition, decreases inhibiting reactive oxygen species mitochondria. Thus, attenuate multiple mechanisms, consequently associating with health. review, we summarize current understanding effects health, focusing

Abstract Background Biological ageing is tightly linked to cardiovascular disease (CVD). We aimed investigate the relationship between Life’s Essential 8 (LE8), a currently updated measure of health (CVH), and biological ageing. Methods This cross-sectional study selected adults ≥ 20 years age from 2005–2010 National Health Nutrition Examination Survey. LE8 scores (range 0–100) were obtained measurements based on American Heart Association definitions, divided into behavior factor scores. was assessed by different methods including phenotypic age, acceleration (PhenoAgeAccel), (BioAgeAccel). Correlations analyzed weighted linear regression restricted cubic spline models. Results Of 11,729 participants included, mean 47.41 ± 0.36 5983 (51.01%) female. The ages 42.96 0.41 46.75 0.39 years, respectively, score 67.71 0.35. After adjusting for potential confounders, higher associated with lower PhenoAgeAccel, BioAgeAccel, nonlinear dose–response relationships. Negative associations also found ageing, stronger factors. In factor-specific analyses, β negativity greater blood glucose pressure. inverse correlations in stratified analyses remained solid across strata. Conclusions its subscale strongly negatively related Encouraging optimal CVH levels may be advantageous preventing slowing down

Metabolic syndrome (MetS) is a multifaceted condition that increases the possibility of developing atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease. MetS includes obesity, hypertension, dyslipidemia, hyperglycemia, endothelial dysfunction, and platelet hyperactivity. There concerning rise in occurrence frequency globally. The rising incidence severity need proactive, multipronged strategy for identifying treating those affected. For many patients, achieving recommended goals healthy fat intake, blood pressure control, glucose management may require combination medicine therapy, lifestyles, nutraceuticals, others. However, it essential to note lifestyle modification should be first-line therapy MetS. In addition, requires pharmacological, nutraceutical, or other interventions. This review aimed bring together etiology, molecular mechanisms, dietary strategies combat dysfunction individuals with

Cardiovascular risk is a clinical factor that represents the probability of developing cardiovascular diseases (CVDs). This shaped by non-modifiable and modifiable factors, including dietary patterns, which are main lifestyle influencing CVD. Dietary polysaccharides, integral to nutrition, have varying effects on health depending their type source. They include starches, non-starch prebiotic fibers, categorized further into soluble insoluble fibers. Soluble found in oats, legumes, fruits, dissolve water, forming gels help lower serum cholesterol modulate blood glucose levels. Insoluble present whole grains vegetables, aid bowel regularity. The benefits polysaccharides linked ability bind bile acids, reducing levels, production short-chain fatty acids gut microbiota, anti-inflammatory properties. However, not all beneficial; refined starches can lead adverse metabolic effects, chitosan mixed microbiota. review examines dualistic nature highlighting beneficial roles factors potential specific types.

Previous studies have found that aerobic exercise was more effective in improving vascular endothelial function than resistance training, high-intensity interval training (HIIT), and other types of exercise, while the effects between different intensities durations were unclear. Therefore, we performed this meta-analysis to investigate on middle-aged elderly people.Databases searched up April 2021 for evaluating influences assessed by flow-mediated dilation (FMD) among healthy people. Data pooled using random-effects models obtain weighted mean difference (WMD) 95% confidence intervals (CIs).A total 9 involving 221 participants fulfilled inclusion criteria. Age-related hearing loss affects a significant proportion of adults aged 60 years and above, with prevalence 65%. This condition has negative impact on both physical mental well-being, while interventions can help alleviate the effects loss, they cannot completely restore normal or halt progression age-related loss. Oxidative stress inflammation have been identified as potential contributors to this condition. Chemotherapy and radiotherapy are first-line treatments in the management of advanced solid tumors. Whereas these directed at eliminating cancer cells, they cause significant adverse effects that can be detrimental to a patient’s quality life even life-threatening. Diet is modifiable risk factor has been shown affect risk, recurrence, treatment toxicity, but little information known how diet interacts with modalities. Although dietary interventions, such as intermittent fasting ketogenic diets, have promise pre-clinical studies by reducing toxicity increasing efficacy chemotherapeutics, there remains limited number clinical this space. This review surveys impact interventions (caloric restriction, short-term fasting, diet) on outcomes both studies. Early support complementary role for improving patient across multiple types perhaps benefit efficacy. Larger, phase III, randomized trials ultimately necessary evaluate oncologic or patients undergoing chemotherapy radiotherapy.
