Background Accelerated biological ageing has been associated with an increased risk of several chronic respiratory diseases. However, the associations between phenotypic age, a new age indicator based on clinical chemistry biomarkers, and common diseases have not evaluated. Methods We analysed data from 308 592 participants at baseline in UK Biobank. The was calculated chronological nine including albumin, alkaline phosphatase, creatinine, glucose, C-reactive protein, lymphocyte percent, mean cell volume, red distribution width white blood count. Furthermore, acceleration (PhenoAgeAccel) by regressing age. PhenoAgeAccel incident cross-sectional lung function were investigated. Moreover, we constructed polygenic scores evaluated whether modified effect genetic susceptibility function. Results results showed significant idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) (hazard ratio (HR) 1.52, 95% CI 1.45–1.59), COPD (HR 1.54, 1.51–1.57) asthma 1.18, 1.15–1.20) per 5-year increase decreased There additive interaction for IPF COPD. Participants high who biologically older had highest 5.24, 3.91–7.02), 2.99, 2.66–3.36) 2.07, 1.86–2.31). Mediation analysis indicated that could mediate 10∼20% smoking diseases, while ∼10% particulate matter aerodynamic diameter <2.5 µm disorders mediated PhenoAgeAccel. Conclusion significantly serve as novel biomarker.

Maintaining ideal cardiovascular health (CVH) is believed to have potential anti-aging benefits. The American Heart Association (AHA) recently updated the "Life's Essential 8 (LE8)" metrics measure CVH, but its connection with protein klotho still unclear. We aimed explore relationship between and serum in a nationally representative US middle-aged older population. A cross-sectional study. National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (2007−2016). total of 9457 participants. Ideal CVH scores their components were defined according guidelines set by AHA. Serum detected enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Weighted multivariable linear regression restricted cubic spline employed examine association score klotho. Subgroup analyses conducted, stratified age (40−59 60−79), sex (Male Female), race (Mexican American, non-Hispanic White, Black, Others) chronic kidney disease (Yes No) fully adjusted models. participants included this study, mean 55.27 ± 0.17 years. level population was 849.33 5.39 pg/mL. After controlling for confounders, LE8 showed positive correlation levels (β: 1.32; 95% CI 0.73, 1.91), non-linear dose-response observed. Furthermore, we also discovered behaviors factors 0.48; 0.07, 0.88 β: 1.05; 0.54, 1.56, respectively), particularly stronger In subgroup analysis, observed significant interaction race. (P <0.05). subscale positively associated populations. Promoting maintenance can contribute delaying aging process.

Hypertension, a key contributor to mortality, is impacted by biological aging. We investigated the relationship between novel aging metrics - Phenotypic Age (PA) and Acceleration (PAA) mortality in individuals with hypertension, exploring mediating effects of arterial stiffness (estimated Pulse Wave Velocity, ePWV), Heart/Vascular (HVA). Using data from 62,160 National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) participants (1999–2010), we selected 4,228 hypertension computed PA, PAA, HVA, ePWV. Weighted, multivariable Cox regression analysis yielded Hazard Ratios (HRs) relating PAA mediation roles ePWV, HVA were evaluated. Mendelian randomization (MR) was employed investigate causality genetically inferred hypertension. Over 12-year median follow-up, PA tied increased risks All-cause hazard ratios per 10-year increments 1.96 (95% CI, 1.81–2.11) 1.67 1.52–1.85), respectively. Cardiovascular HRs 2.32 1.97–2.73) 1.93 1.65–2.26) for mediated 42%, 30.3%, 6.9% PA's impact on highlighted causal link genetics (OR = 1.002; 95% 1.000–1.003). enhancing cardiovascular risk scores integrating diverse biomarkers, offer vital insights evaluation suggesting avenues intensified mitigation issue prevention. Background Metabolic syndrome (MetS) is a global health concern, and it particularly harmful to middle-aged elderly individuals. Life Element Eight (LE8), measure improve cardiovascular health, may offer benefits for MetS. Herein, we examined the relationship between LE8 MetS among individuals, elucidated role of biological aging inflammation in this process. Methods We obtained scores 2,901 Americans, along with their indicators (Biological age, Phenotypic Serum Klotho), computed inflammatory SII, DII. Using logistic regression model, assessed association markers, Biological aging, Additionally, generated restricted cubic spline (RCS) plots display trends significant variables regression. parallel mediation analysis, evaluated possible mediating various factors risk Results Our examination revealed that higher were associated lower incidence fully adjusted model. The high subgroup had 79.73% reduction compared low an OR = 0.2027 (95% Cl 0.0871, 0.4714), similar correlations factor risk. mediated associations LE8, behaviors Conclusion A rise score individuals protective MetS, be partially by suggesting reduce ameliorating aging.

Abstract Chronic constipation, diarrhea, and fecal incontinence have high incidence, potential disability, socioeconomic impact, imposing a heavy burden on the quality of life. We aim to explore association between cardiovascular health (CVH) bowel from National Health Nutrition Survey 2005–2010. CVH is assessed using Life’s Essential 8 (LE8). chronic are based Bristol Stool Form Scale classification, movements, leakage. Better behaviors (odds ratio [OR]: 0.71, 95% confidence interval [CI] 0.53–0.94, p = 0.02) worse factors (OR: 1.45, CI 1.03–2.04, 0.04) were associated with less constipation. Less diarrhea correlated better 0.53, 0.35–0.79, 0.003) 0.61, 0.46–0.81, 0.001). Meanwhile, proportion significantly decreases when score exceeds 59.42. Lower was 0.63, 0.44–0.90, 0.01) CVH. both linked lower all-cause mortality in participants constipation diarrhea. A higher also patients incontinence. Maintaining at population level contributes intestinal health, achieving dual management while saving healthcare costs. However, further prospective research needed confirm these associations.

Background Life’s essential’ 8 (LE8) is a newly updated cardiovascular health (CVH) metrics from the American Heart Association, with close relevance to metabolism. Our objective explore association between LE8 scores and incidence of metabolic dysfunction-associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD) advanced fibrosis in adults. Methods This population-based cross-sectional study utilized data National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) conducted 2005 2018, encompassing adults aged 20 years or older. Validated non-invasive scoring systems were employed define steatosis fibrosis. Multivariable logistic regression smooth curve fitting techniques applied evaluate associations. All analyses adjusted for survey’ complex design parameters accounted sample weights. Results A total 11,820 participants included. higher score was found be inversely associated MAFLD fibrosis, odds ratios (OR) 0.64 (95% CI: 0.57–0.71) 0.75 0.61–0.92) per 1 standard deviation (SD) increase score.
