It is well known that carbohydrates are the main source of calories in most diets. However, by inhibiting carbohydrases, intake reduced and weight loss improved. α-amylase an enzyme hydrolyses α-1,4 glycosidic linkages α-linked polysaccharides, resulting low-molecular-weight products such as glucose, maltose maltotriose, while α-glucosidase catalyzes hydrolysis nonreducing α-1,4-linked glucose moieties from disaccharides or oligosaccharides. Currently, one common nutritional disorders world hyperglycemia. One new therapeutic approaches to treat this disease application natural inhibitors, polyphenols, control starch digestion regulate blood level. Dietary polyphenols showed potential inhibitory activity against review summarizes recently published literature studied inhibition mechanisms structure–activity relationship between individual dietary mentioned digestive enzymes. higher binding interactions cause activities; thus, different can affect steps polysaccharides. The aim clarify these introduce polyphenol-rich functional foods tools for α-glucosidase.

The global prevalence of diabetes continues to increase partly due rapid urbanization and an in the aging population. Consequently, this is associated with a parallel diabetic vascular complications which significantly worsen burden diabetes. For these complications, there still unmet need for safe effective alternative/adjuvant therapeutic interventions. There also increasing urge options come from natural products such as plants. Hyperglycemia-induced oxidative stress central development complications. Furthermore, stress-induced inflammation insulin resistance are endothelial damage progression Human animal studies have shown that polyphenols could reduce stress, hyperglycemia, prevent including retinopathy, nephropathy, peripheral neuropathy. Part effects attributed their modulatory effect on endogenous antioxidant systems. This review attempts summarize established systems literature. Moreover, potential strategies harnessing benefits discussed.

Abstract In the middle of an ever‐changing landscape diabetes care, precision medicine, and lifestyle therapies are becoming increasingly important. Dietary polyphenols like hidden allies found in our everyday meals. These biomolecules, commonly fruits, vegetables, various plant‐based sources, hold revolutionary potential within their molecular structure way we approach its intimidating consequences. There currently numerous types medications, but they not appropriate for all patients due to limitations dosages, side effects, drug resistance, a lack efficacy, ethnicity. Currently, there has been increased interest practicing herbal remedies manage related complications. This article aims summarize dietary as foundation treatment associated We that most inhibit enzymes linked diabetes. review outlines benefits selected molecules, including kaempferol, catechins, rosmarinic acid, apigenin, chlorogenic caffeic managing mellitus these compounds have exhibited promising results vitro, vivo, silico, some preclinical trials study. encompassing exploration reveals multifaceted impact only mitigating also addressing conditions inflammation, obesity, even cancer. Their mechanisms involve antioxidant functions, immune modulation, proinflammatory enzyme regulation. Furthermore, molecules exhibit anti‐tumor activities, influence cellular pathways, activate AMPK offering less toxic, cost‐effective, sustainable

The emphasis on healthy nutrition is gaining a forefront place in current biomedical sciences. Nutritional deficiencies and imbalances have been widely demonstrated to be involved the genesis development of many world-scale public health burdens, such as metabolic cardiovascular diseases. In recent years, bee pollen emerging scientifically validated candidate, which can help diminish conditions through nutritional interventions. This matrix being extensively studied, has proven very rich well-balanced nutrient pool. this work, we reviewed available evidence interest source. We mainly focused richness nutrients its possible roles main pathophysiological processes that are directly linked imbalances. scoping review analyzed scientific works published last four focusing clearest inferences perspectives translate cumulated experimental preclinical into clinically relevant insights. promising uses for malnutrition, digestive health, disorders, other bioactivities could helpful readjust homeostasis (as it also true case anti-inflammatory or anti-oxidant needs), well benefits diseases, were identified. knowledge gaps identified, along with practical challenges hinder establishment fructification these uses. A spinal cord injury (SCI) occurs when the is deteriorated or traumatized, leading to motor and sensory functions lost even totally partially. An imbalance within generation of reactive oxygen species antioxidant defense levels results in oxidative stress (OS) neuroinflammation. After SCI, OS occurring pathways inflammations are significant strenuous drivers cross-linked dysregulated pathways. It emphasizes significance multitarget therapy combating SCI consequences. Polyphenols, which secondary metabolites originating from plants, have promise be used as alternative therapeutic agents treat SCI. Secondary activity on neuroinflammatory, neuronal OS, extrinsic axonal during early stages Experimental clinical investigations noted possible importance phenolic compounds important phytochemicals moderating upstream OS/inflammatory signaling mediators regeneration's after probable mediating mediators. Sechium edule, commonly known as chayote is for its low glycemic index, high fiber content, and rich nutritional profile, which suggests it may be beneficial individuals with diabetes. While research specifically examining the impact of on diabetes limited, this study screened biological impacts by using different biomarkers streptozotocin-induced diabetic (STZ-ID) rats. The ethanolic extract edule fruits was assessed phytochemical, biochemical, anti-diabetic properties. In results, had phenolic flavonoid contents respectively (39.25 ± 0.65 mg/mL 12.16 0.50 mg/mL). These showed implications STZ-ID Altogether 200 400 mg/kg considerably reduced blood sugar level enhanced lipid profile Additionally, they have decreased urea serum creatinine levels. Besides, levels SGOT, SGPT, LDH, sodium, potassium ions were significantly lowered after administration period. More importantly, electrocardiogram (ECG) parameters such QT, RR, QTc prolonged in rats downregulated 35 days S. (400 mg/kg). And, histological examination pancreas kidney marked improvement structural features groups when compared to control group. Where increase glucose positively correlated (r2 = 0.76, r2 0.43) means that ECG could reflect conclusion, our findings fruit exerts a potential reduce artifacts secondary can strongly suggested candidates. Their high polyphenol content has been proven enhance health beyond doubt in statistics-based public studies, especially prevention cardiovascular disease and cancer. The current review concentrates on presenting classifying bioactive molecules (resveratrol, quercetin, catechin/epicatechin, etc.) available quantities Vitis vinifera grapes their byproducts. molecular pathways cellular signaling cascades involved effects these also presented this review, which summarizes currently vitro vivo experimental literature data biological activities mostly easily accessible tabular form. New for different therapeutic purposes can be synthesized based existing compound classes grape, wine, grape marc. Therefore an overview structures is provided. Novel possibilities as dendrimer nanobioconjugates reviewed, too. Currently scope details antidiabetic, anticarcinogenic, antiviral, vasoprotective, neuroprotective roles grape-origin flavonoids. novelty study lies description processing agricultural by-products (grape seeds skins) industrial relevance, detailed mechanisms action. In addition, clinical applications polyphenols unique no summary yet done.

Diabetes (hyperglycemia) is defined as a multifactorial metabolic disorder in which insulin resistance and defects pancreatic β-cell dysfunction are two major pathophysiologic abnormalities that underpin towards gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM). TCF7L2, KCNQ1, KCNJ11 genes connected to the mechanism of dysfunction. The purpose this study was investigate associated with their genetic roles rs7903146, rs2237892, rs5219 variants Saudi women diagnosed type 2 GDM.In case-control study, 100 GDM healthy volunteers (non-GDM) were recruited. Genotyping performed using polymerase chain reaction (PCR), followed by restriction fragment length analysis. Validation Sanger sequencing. Statistical analyses multiple software packages.Clinical studies showed positive association when compared non-GDM (p < 0.05).
