In our randomized controlled trial, we investigated whether Wu-style Tai Chi (Tai combined with Daoyin) as a potential exercise prescription is more effective than simplified in the prevention and treatment of hypertension hyperlipidemia middle-aged elderly. We randomly assigned 66 patients to one two groups: group or group; only exercised three times week for 6 weeks. The participated 60 min Serum biochemical tests were conducted at baseline end study. Measurements blood pressure performed same time. Primary outcomes compared within between groups participants performed, weeks, significantly better on all primary (

Good management and improved standards of animal welfare are discussed as important ways reducing the risk infection in farm animals without medication. Increasing evidence from both humans suggests that environments promote wellbeing over stress positive negative emotions can reduce susceptibility to disease and/or lead milder symptoms. We point out, however, relationship between welfare, immunity, is highly complex we caution against claiming more than current shows. The accumulating but sometimes equivocal close links brain, gut microbiome, context known mental physical health humans. This not only provides empirical support for importance good preventative medicine also indicates a variety mechanisms by which directly influence resistance. Finally, outline what still needs be done explore potential effects welfare.

Many middle-aged and older adults have more than one chronic health condition. It is therefore important to explore the effectiveness of interventions for multiple conditions. Tai Chi widely used in China other countries, many studies examined effect on anxiety depression. However, there are no systematic reviews depression various This review meta-analysis aimed evaluate effects symptoms four conditions: cancer, stroke, heart failure (HF), obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). We searched Chinese English databases (Cochrane Library, PubMed, Web Science, National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), Science Technology Journal Database (VIP), Wanfang Database, Sinomed) from inception October 2020. Review Manager version 5.2 Stata 12.0 were perform a review. The quality included was evaluated using Cochrane risk bias tool. study registered with PROSPERO database (number CRD42020209594). Of 596 identified, we 25 randomized controlled trials involving 1819 participants. Combined analysis diseases showed statistically significant differences between control groups (SMD −0.99, 95%CI: −1.5, −0.47; P < 0.01) depressive 0.70, −1.01, −0.39; 0.01). Abstract Background This overview summarizes the best available systematic review (SR) evidence on health effects of Tai Chi. Methods Nine databases (PubMed, Cochrane Library, EMBASE, Medline, Web Science, China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), Chinese Scientific Journal Database (VIP), Sino-Med, and Wanfang Database) were searched for SRs controlled clinical trials Chi interventions published between Jan 2010 Dec 2020 in any language. Effect estimates extracted from most recent, comprehensive, highest-quality SR each population, condition, outcome. quality was appraised with AMSTAR 2 overall certainty effect GRADE method. Results Of 210 included SRs, 193 only randomized trials, one non-randomized studies interventions, 16 both. Common conditions neurological (18.6%), falls/balance (14.7%), cardiovascular musculoskeletal (11.0%), cancer (7.1%), diabetes mellitus (6.7%). Except stroke, no disease prevention found; however, multiple proxy-outcomes/risks factors evaluated. One hundred fourteen 37 (2 high, 6 moderate, 18 low, 11 critically low quality), representing 59,306 adults. Compared to active and/or inactive controls, 66 114 reported clinically important benefits Chi, 53 an equivalent or marginal benefit, risk adverse events. Eight (7.0%) rated as 43 (37.7%) 36 (31.6%) 27 (23.7%) very due concerns bias (92/114, 80.7%), imprecision (43/114, 37.7%), inconsistency (37/114, 32.5%), publication (3/114, 2.6%). often limited by search strategies, language bias, inadequate consideration clinical, methodological, statistical heterogeneity, poor reporting standards, registered protocol. Conclusions The findings suggest has multidimensional effects, including physical, psychological life a wide range conditions, well multimorbidity. Clinically consistently Parkinson’s disease, falls risk, knee osteoarthritis, back pain, cerebrovascular, diseases hypertension. For higher-quality rigorous primary are required. The aging population warrants the increase of mild cognitive impairment (MCI) prevalence, a condition that could progress to dementia. Efforts have been made improve MCI and prevent its progression, including introduction Tai Chi, Chinese traditional exercise. aim this systematic review meta-analysis was evaluate efficacy Chi in attenuating among elderly population. Records investigating effect exercise intervention on function patients were searched systematically from PubMed, ScienceDirect, Google Scholar, Europe PMC as April 13, 2023. risk bias (RoB 2.0) quality assessment employed appraisal studies included. Review Manager 5.4.1 used for data extraction meta-analysis, where standard mean difference (SMD) 95% confidence interval (95%CI) computed. Eight randomized control trials with total 1379 participants included meta-analysis. Six assessed Montreal Cognitive Assessment scores, pooled analysis suggested effective conventional (SMD=0.15, 95%CI: -0.11 0.40, p=0.26). However, Mini-Mental Status Examination more effectively improved reduced rate (SMD=0.36, 0.18 0.54, p<0.01) compared group. This suggest that, some extent, is efficacious improving slowing down patients.

Tai Chi Chuan (TCC) is regarded as a typical mind-body practice combining aerobic exercise meditation to prevent treat mood. Although there are an increasing number TCC studies examining anxiety, depression, stress, mechanisms underlying these emotions not fully understood. This review study examined related health from both clinical patients healthy individuals. Next, several potential physiological, psychological, neurological perspectives were evaluated based on direct indirect research evidence. We reviewed recent functional magnetic resonance imaging studies, which demonstrated changes brain anatomy function, mainly prefrontal cortex, following practice.
