Methods This study examined the effects of exercise training for 8 weeks on blood immune cell characteristics among 20 breast cancer survivors (age 56 ± 6 years, Body Mass Index 25.4 3.0 kg m 2 ) within two years treatment. Participants were randomly allocated to a partly-supervised or remotely-supported group ( n = 10 each). The partly supervised undertook (laboratory-based treadmill walking and cycling) 1 unsupervised session per week (outdoor walking) progressing from 35 50 min 55% 70% V˙O max. received weekly exercise/outdoor targets (progressing 105 150 max) via telephone calls discussing data fitness tracker. Immune counts assessed using flow cytometry: CD4+ CD8+ T cells (Naïve, NA; Central memory, CM; Effector cells, EM EMRA; CD27/CD45RA), Stem cell-like memory (TSCMs; CD95/CD127), B (plasmablasts, immature naïve CD19/CD27/CD38/CD10) Natural Killer (effector regulatory CD56/CD16). function was by unstimulated HLA-DR expression interferon gamma (IFN-γ) production with Enzyme-linked ImmunoSpot assays following stimulation virus tumour-associated antigens. Results Total leukocyte counts, lymphocytes, monocytes neutrophils did not change p > 0.425). Most subtypes, including TSCMs, NK subtypes 0.127). However, across groups combined, EMRA count lower after (cells/µl: 18 33 vs. 12 22, 0.028) these less activated basis (HLA-DR median fluorescence intensity: 463 138 420 77, 0.018). Furthermore, showed significant decrease in CD4+/CD8+ ratio (3.90 2.98 2.54 1.29, 0.006) increase 16 21 10, 0.011). IFN-γ 0.515). Discussion In summary, most are relatively stable survivors. activation might reflect an anti-immunosenescence effect exercise.

The purpose of this study was to investigate whether routine blood tests and clinical characteristics can predict in-hospital mortality in COVID-19. Clinical data 285 patients aged 59.7 ± 10.3 yrs. (males n = 189, females 96) were retrospectively collected from December 2020 June 2021. Routine recorded within the 1st hour admission hospital. inflammatory variables, such as C-reactive protein (CRP), procalcitonin (PCT), neutrophils−lymphocyte ratio (NLR) systemic index (SII), exceeded reference values all significantly higher deceased (n 108) compared survivors 177). log-rank test for comparing two survival curves showed that ≥60.5 years, with PCT ≥ 0.188 ng/mL or NLR 11.57 103/µL at a greater risk death. demonstrated high impact on COVID-19 (HR 1.317; 95%CI 1.004−1.728; p < 0.05), whereas CRP SII no effect 1.000; 1.000−1.004; 0.085 HR 1.078; 0.865−1.344; 0.503, respectively). The pivotal role of the immune system in physical activity is well-established. While interactions are complex, they tend to constitute discrete responses. Moderate intensity exercise causes leukocytosis with a mild anti-inflammatory cytokine profile and immunoenhancement. Above threshold intensity, lactate-mediated IL-6 release proinflammatory state followed by depressed inflammatory state, which stimulates adaptation longer term cardiometabolic enhancement. Abstract Biological age (BA) captures detrimental age-related changes. The best-known and most-used BA indicators include DNA methylation–based epigenetic clocks telomere length (TL). most common biological sample material for epidemiological aging studies, whole blood, is composed of different cell types. We aimed to compare differences in BAs between blood types assessed the indicators’ type-specific associations with chronological (CA). An analysis indicators, including TL, methylation level at cg16867657 ELOVL2 , as well Hannum, Horvath, DNAmPhenoAge, DunedinPACE clocks, was performed on 428 samples 12 values were majority pairwise comparisons types, comparison ( p < 0.05). DNAmPhenoAge showed largest type differences, up 44.5 years methylation-based TL lowest differences. T cells generally had "youngest" values, across subsets, whereas monocytes "oldest" values. All except DunedinPACE, strongly correlated CA within a type. Some such DNAmPhenoAge-difference naïve CD4 + constant regardless donor's (range 20–80 years), while they not. In conclusion, exhibit type–specific characteristics. Our results have implications understanding molecular mechanisms underlying underscore importance considering composition when utilizing them success interventions.

Cellular senescence is an irreversible state of cell cycle arrest. Senescent cells (SCs) accumulate in the body with age and secrete harmful substances known as senescence-associated secretory phenotype (SASP), causing chronic inflammation; at same time, inflammation leads to a decrease immune system function, immunosenescence, which further accelerates aging process. immunosenescence are closely related variety diseases, including cardiovascular metabolic disorders, autoimmune neurodegenerative diseases. Studying mechanisms cellular developing targeted interventions crucial for improving function quality life elderly people. Here, we review series recent studies focusing on molecular regulation by system, latest advances basic clinical research senolytics. We summarize animal models research, well mechanisms, strategies, future directions from immunological perspective, hope laying foundation novel practical anti-aging therapies.

Age-related immune deficiencies increase the risk of comorbidities and mortality. This study evaluated immunosenescence patterns by flow cytometry naïve memory T cell subpopulations profile (IRP), expressed as CD4/CD8 ratio IgG CMV related to comorbidities. The disproportions in cells, well ratio, were analysed 99 elderly individuals (71.9 ± 5.8 years) diagnosed with hypertension (n = 51) or without 48), using an eight-parameter cytometer. percentage CD4+ lymphocytes was significantly higher hypertensive than other independently from infections, approximately 34% having > 2.5, only 4% < 1. a normal BMI demonstrated ≥ 1 ≤ while overweight obese participants showed tendency inverted ratio. increased gradually age reached highest values aged >75 years. decline more prominent CMV+ men when compared women. changes lymphocyte population, CD4/CD8, seropositivity included IRP are important markers health status that dependent on hypertension.
