Introdução: O Transtorno Dismórfico Corporal (TDC), também conhecido como Dismorfia (DM), caracterizado por uma preocupação excessiva e distorcida com a aparência física, levando percepção negativa exagerada de supostas imperfeições ou defeitos em partes do corpo. Objetivo: Realizar análise abrangente impacto TDC na saúde mental, meio revisão revisões sistemáticas previamente publicadas. Metodologia: Para seleção dos estudos, foram utilizadas as plataformas pesquisa Google Acadêmico PubMed. As palavras-chave nortearam materiais tanto português quanto inglês. Foi filtrado buscas artigos pelo ano 2016 2022, abrangendo um intervalo seis anos. Resultados: Foram selecionados 18 estudos sistemática, totalizando 525 no geral. Dentre os investigados foi notado que participantes relataram insatisfação imagem corporal, tentativa suicídio baixa autoestima. Além disso, detectados cinco tipos transtornos pessoas dismorfia muscular podem vir acarretar, sendo eles Transtornos Depressivos, Alimentares, Ansiedade, Obsessivo-compulsivo Estresse pós-traumático. Conclusão: constatado sujeitos apresentam gerar prejuízos ainda maiores para desencadeando consequências mais adversas. Estes achados ressaltam necessidade investir pesquisas sobre esse tema, fim promover estratégias eficazes intervenção prevenção.

Body dysmorphic disorder is a mental health characterized by preoccupation with perceived flaw, which commonly seen among dermatology patients. The objective of this study was to determine the frequency body and assess self-esteem clinical sample adolescents young adults being managed for acne vulgaris. A total 105 patients, age range 13-24 years, receiving treatment at 1 2 outpatient clinic were included. self-report questionnaire used, included screening tool (based on Diagnostic Statistical Manual Mental Disorders (DSM-5) diagnostic criteria) Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (RSES). Acne graded Cook's grading scale. Out visiting dermatologist due acne, 13 (12.4%) screened positive (95% confidence interval CI) 6.8-20.2%). Patients more likely have female gender (p = 0.020) had lower (RSES 15.8 vs 20.5, respectively, p 0.013) compared patients without disorder. No differences found in DSM-IV or DSM-5 criteria. This first report acne. Ultimately, awareness presenting dermatological disorders could lead rapid recognition referral psychiatric units.

Abstract This study aims to clarify the current concept of performing rhinoplasty in patients with possible body dysmorphic disorder (BDD). The primary objective was investigate validity and evolution over time Body Dysmorphic Disorder Questionnaire—Aesthetic Surgery (BDDQ-AS) before after surgery. Together BDDQ-AS, also Nasal Obstruction Symptom Evaluation scale, FACE-Q nose nostrils, Utrecht questionnaire (UQ) were used for convergent validation. In this prospective study, 187 completed these patient-reported outcome measures at four points: preoperative consultation postoperatively 3, 6 12 months. BDDQ-AS positivity rate as high 55.1%. Postoperatively, there a highly significant decrease odds scoring positive on BDDQ-AS. At consultation, positively screened less satisfied esthetics their noses worse scores UQ, nose, visual analog scale. differences measure ratings disappeared postoperatively, except which surprisingly showed better values patients. Younger age absence nasal trauma statistically covariates associated screening. Due overwhelming outcomes surgery, screening result should not be interpreted formal contraindication Collaboration psychologists or psychiatrists remains crucial diagnose BDD conclusively.

Background: Body dysmorphic disorder (BDD) is a common that consists of distressing or impairing preoccupation with imagined slight defects in appearance. In dentistry, those patients will have unrealistic expectations and usually be unsatisfied the outcomes dental treatment. This study investigated prevalence BDD its associated factors among patients. Material methods: this cross-sectional survey-based study, purposive sample was used to recruit adult seeking treatment private public facilities. Data collected using validated Arabic version Cosmetic Procedure Screening Questionnaire (COPS) for Dysmorphic Disorder, nine-item self-administrated instrument scored from zero (least impaired) five (most impaired). Chi-Square, Mann-Whitney U, Fisher’s Exact tests were compare associations between variables BDD. Results: A total 507 responded questionnaire. The 34.1%. average age participants 35.2 years; majority males 290 (57%) Saudis 436 (86%) college education 304 (60%). None demographics but type significantly teeth crowning restorations. Abstract Background Recent work has shown that judgment biases during facial processing serve as a correlate of dysmorphic concern. The current study aimed to replicate and extend this by further testing larger model-congruent interrelations between intrusions, negative affect, maladaptive behaviors social media investment. Methods Females reporting high ( n = 30) vs. low 33) concern categorized photographs their own other faces in terms either attractiveness or gaze direction using the Biased Judgment-Dimension Task. To assess intrusions behaviors, participants completed Task-Irrelevant Intrusions Task 3-day diary, respectively. Aim: To find out the prevalence of body dysmorphic disorder among patients seeking facial cosmetic procedures, association social demographic (age, gender, occupation, marital status, friends relationship, and dating status) ampatientsient with disorder.Materials Methods: A cross-sectional study was done on a sample 100 from Al-waste Hospital Ghazy Al-Hariri for surgical specialties in Baghdad by using questionnaire to diagnose probable case then semi-structured based DSM5 criteria during period extended beginning January 2019 end April 2019.Results: The chi-square test proved between female gender is significant P=0.026. Significant associations were also noticed single 76.8% comparison married 37.8, divorced or widowed 42.9% (P=0.001).
