The 8-item version of the Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-8) is one self-reported questionnaires most frequently used worldwide for screening and severity assessment depression. The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on epidemiological characteristics depression among adults in U.S. remains unclear. This study aims to analyze trends prevalence over time and quantify effect its prevalence. Using data from 2007 2023 provided by National Health Nutrition Examination Surveys (NHANES), this examined 36,472 participants. Results revealed an increasing trend 2023. Notably, overall weighted following (12.4%, 95% CI: 10.6-14.1%) was significantly higher than all years prior pandemic. Subgroups such as females, Mexican Americans, young experienced particularly pronounced increases. By analyzing two survey cycles close onset outbreak, identified a significant prevalence, with adjusted odds ratio 1.58 (95% 1.28–1.94). Individuals lower socioeconomic status those without pre-existing conditions exhibited greater increases whereas emotional health individuals who smoke appeared unaffected

BackgroundAssessing the prevalence of clinically relevant depressive symptoms and their possible variation by country over time could be a valuable resource to inform development public health policies preventive resources reduce mental burden. We aimed assess cross-national differences in point Europe 2018–20, evaluate between countries 2013–15 2018–20.MethodsIn this population-based study, data from participants second third waves European Health Interview Survey (EHIS-2 2013 2015 EHIS-3 2018 2020) 30 were used (n=542 580). From total sample, 283 692 belonging included study (52·4% women 47·5% men). The non-response ranged country, 12% 78%. Point was evaluated using cutoff score 10 or more for 8-item version Patient Questionnaire. Crude ratios adjusted (aPRs) obtained within countries.FindingsThe 2018–20 6·54% (95% CI 6·34–6·73), ranging across 1·85% (1·53–2·17) Greece 10·72% (10·04–11·40) Sweden. Compared with other countries, those lowest aPRs Greece, Serbia, Cyprus highest Belgium, Slovenia, Croatia. A small but significant increase EHIS-2 observed (aPR 1·11 [1·07–1·14]). wide variability observed, an aPR 0·63 (0·54–0·74) Hungary 1·88 (1·53–2·31) Slovenia.InterpretationThis based on large representative datasets valid reliable screening tool assessment depression, indicates that 2020 remains relatively stable, countries. There is a need for an interview-based measure to assess Prolonged Grief Disorder (PGD) included in the text revision of fifth Diagnostic and Statistical Manual Mental (DSM-5-TR) 11th edition International Classification Disease (ICD-11). We evaluated psychometric properties Traumatic Inventory-Clinician Administered (TGI-CA); new interview measuring DSM-5-TR ICD-11 PGD severity probable caseness. In 211 Dutch 222 German bereaved adults, the: (i) factor structure, (ii) internal consistency, (iii) test-retest reliability, (iv) measurement invariance across subgroups (e.g., differing language), (v) prevalence caseness, (vi) convergent validity, (vii) known-groups validity were examined.Confirmatory analyses (CFAs) showed acceptable fit unidimensional model PGD. Omega values indicated good consistency. Test-retest reliability was high. Multi-group CFAs demonstrated configural metric criteria all group-comparisons; some we found support scalar invariance. Rates caseness lower than Optimal agreement reached when increasing number accessory symptoms from 1+ 3+. Convergent both criteria-sets.The TGI-CA developed caseness. Clinical diagnostic interviews are needed. The seems reliable valid symptomatology. More research larger more diverse samples needed further test its properties.

To determine if this shift was associated a change in intentions while adjusting for unmeasured confounders and time trends, we performed difference‐in‐difference analysis (a quasi‐experimental design) compare changes between client (treated) non‐client (control) groups through large national sample emerging adults ( N = 52,237). The study findings indicated that not intentions, providing support utility counseling.
