The brown marine alga Rugulopteryx okamurae (R. okamurae) has quickly spread through the Mediterranean coasts since it was firstly spotted in area 2015. This alien species already colonized a great part of western and displaced local biota, disrupting natural autochthonous ecosystem. Moreover, related 'green' tides also provoke environmental problems ashore that need to be addressed. Comprehending potential this unwanted biomass could vital importance lessen its ecological impact. In study, R. assessed for as raw material extraction reducing sugars polyphenolic compounds with antioxidant capacities. process evaluated optimized using response surface methodology (RSM) combined modified Box-Behnken design. Initially, 2 key operational factors were identified most influential parameters (i.e. drying temperature milling time). However, type solvent use zeolite included design potentially have significant impact on process. analyzed responses yields total phenolic (TPC) (RS). For TPC based ethanol solvent, 60 °C zeolite-assisted time s, reaching maximum yield 15.33 ggallic acid kg−1. RS water 100 zeolite-absence 50s, 10.42 gglucose

Vernonia amygdalina is a popular plant used both in traditional medicine and as culinary herb, one of which anticancer. Microwave-assisted extraction (MAE) reported to have the advantage producing extracts with better phenol flavonoid content so that anticancer potential extract increases. This study was conducted produce polyphenol-rich V. stem bark an Responses Surface Methodology (RSM) determine optimum conditions for extracting phenolics flavonoids from bark. The total phenolic contents were carried out using colorimetry assay. antioxidant activity optimal (VABEEo) non-optimum (VABEE) determined DPPH method support its activity. Meanwhile, VABEEo established through several tests cytotoxic test MTT assay, cell cycle arrest apoptosis flow cytometer, protein expression immunocytochemical analysis. research informs highest yield, (TPC), (TFC) obtained respectively at 7.402 g, 73.634 mg GAE/g, 64.466 QE/g microwave power 450 W 3 min solvent concentration 76.19 %. In addition, 25.413 ± 0.525 µg/mL, higher than VABEE 41.254 0.614 µg/mL. vitro studies show inhibits colon cancer growth by inducing G1 stages, increasing apoptosis, decreasing Cyclin D1/p53 levels. showed application RSM successful preparation MAE. Moreover, indicates promising further treatment via tests.

This research aimed to evaluate the impact of various herbal additions on quality and sensory attributes moringa (Moringa oleifera Lam)-based instant beverages. The study was conducted in several laboratories at Tadulako University Goods Quality Testing Certification Unit Palu. Physicochemical properties (water content, vitamin C, antioxidants, solution pH, dissolution time) were evaluated using a completely randomized design. At same time, such as color, aroma, taste examined block experiment tested six different additions: P0 (no herbs), P1 (red ginger), P2 (lemongrass), P3 (galangal), P4 (white turmeric), P5 (yellow with each treatment repeated three times. Results showed that yellow turmeric yielded best physicochemical outcomes, time 83 seconds, water content 5.27%, pH 6.36, C 12.44%, an antioxidant activity 49.25%. In contrast, red ginger emerged most preferred by panelists, scoring highest terms taste, values 3.50, 3.97, 3.60, respectively. findings indicate additives can enhance functional appeal drinks. Yellow effectively optimized traits, making beverage more suitable for health-conscious consumers. Meanwhile, improved appeal, increasing likelihood consumer acceptance. Future should optimize concentrations balance their effects qualities, investigate advanced drying techniques meet Indonesian National Standard 4320:1996 standards, explore bioavailability health impacts these products.

Here, we investigated the antioxidant and nematicidal activities of aqueous leaf stem extract Chromolaena odorata (L.) (AECO) against Radopholus similis, a nematode pest banana plants. In vitro analysis involved testing AECO at concentrations ranging from 50 to 300 µg/mL in 2,2-diphenylpicrylhydrazyl (DPPH) 2,2'-azino-bis(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) (ABTS) radical-scavenging assays. Both vivo experiments were performed using doses 780, 1,560, 3,120, 6,250, 12,500 mg DW/L AECO.We assessed egg hatching inhibition juvenile survival rate R. content compounds roots, dry weight aerial parts density soil.In assays revealed substantial DPPH-scavenging (59.67-92.13%)and ABTS radical (37.26% µg/mL) activities. In exhibited significant (p < 0.05) similis (26.98%, 55.25%, 82.92% 24, 48, 72 h, respectively) reduced 0.05).In demonstrated decrease malondialdehyde concentration an increase production (glutathione, catalase, superoxide dismutase) roots after treatment.Plant biomass showed differences 0.05), with highest values (15.38 ± 0.13 g part 29.32 0.15 root weight) recorded 12500 treatment.Notably, was significantly decreased soil treatment, maximum obtained mg/kg.These findings emphasize potential for management its relevance cultivation Cavendish bananas.
