Abstract: The intestinal microecology is comprises microorganisms and other components constituting the entire ecosystem, presenting characteristics of stability dynamic balance. Current research reveals microecological imbalances are related to various diseases. However, fundamental clinical applications have not been effectively integrated. Considering importance complexity regulating balance, this study provides an overview high-risk factors affecting detection methods. Moreover, it proposes definition imbalance definition, formulation, outcomes gut prescription facilitate its application in practice, thus promoting on improving quality life population. Keywords: microecology, risk, prescription, faecal microbiota transplantation

Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) is a major contributor to liver-related morbidity, cardiovascular disease, and metabolic complications. Lifestyle interventions, including diet exercise, are first line in treating MASLD. Dietary approaches such as the low-glycemic-index Mediterranean diet, ketogenic intermittent fasting, high fiber diets have demonstrated potential addressing dysfunction underlying this condition. The development progression of MASLD closely associated with taxonomic shifts gut microbial communities, relationship well-documented literature. Given importance primary treatment for MASLD, it important understand how microbiota their byproducts mediate favorable outcomes induced by healthy dietary patterns. Conversely, changes conferred unhealthy patterns Western may induce dysbiosis influence through promoting hepatic inflammation, up-regulating lipogenesis, dysregulating bile acid metabolism, increasing insulin resistance, causing oxidative damage hepatocytes. Although emerging evidence has identified links between microbiota, significant gaps remain understanding specific roles, metabolite pathways, host interactions, causal relationships. Therefore, review aims provide mechanistic insights into role microbiota-mediated processes analysis both contribution pathophysiology. By better elucidating interplay nutrients, processes, onset work identify new opportunities targeted interventions treat efficiently.

The gut microbiota has emerged as a critical player in metabolic and liver health, with its influence extending to the pathogenesis progression of steatotic diseases. This review delves into gut-liver axis, dynamic communication network linking microbiome through metabolic, immunological, inflammatory pathways. Dysbiosis, characterized by altered microbial composition, contributes significantly development hepatic steatosis, inflammation, fibrosis via mechanisms such barrier dysfunction, metabolite production, systemic inflammation. Dietary patterns, including Mediterranean diet, are highlighted for their role modulating microbiota, improving axis integrity, attenuating injury. Additionally, emerging microbiota-based interventions, fecal transplantation bacteriophage therapy, show promise therapeutic strategies disease. However, challenges population heterogeneity, methodological variability, knowledge gaps hinder translational application current findings. Addressing these barriers standardized approaches integrative research will pave way microbiota-targeted therapies mitigate global burden

The microbiome is a complex ecosystem of microorganisms that inhabit specific environment. It plays significant role in human health, from food digestion to immune system strengthening. “Novel Foods” refer foods or ingredients have not been consumed by humans the European Union before 1997. Currently, there growing interest understanding how affect and health. aim this review was assess effects on gut microbiome. Research conducted using scientific databases, focusing literature published since 2000, with an emphasis past decade. In general, benefits derived type diet are due interaction between polyphenols, oligosaccharides, prebiotics, probiotics, fibre content, microbiome, which selectively promotes microbial species increases diversity. More research being consumption novel demonstrate they and, thus, Consumption health-promoting properties should be further explored maintain diversity functionality as potential tool prevent onset progression chronic diseases.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, dietary habits in population changed and sometimes deviated from healthy eating patterns, such as Mediterranean diet. Based on reports quality of diet respondents to studies conducted at beginning it could be concluded that these new are unfavorable for a good prognosis course any disease its severity symptoms. This study decided confront assumptions with results people who had COVID-19. Background/Objectives: aimed assess associations between patterns occurrence hospitalization gastrointestinal disorders among patients diagnosed Methods: included 550 completed survey up 8 months after being The 62 items FFQ-6®, GSRS, PAC-SYM FACT-G7 standardized questionnaires. Results: Two (DPs) were identified: 'Processed high fat/sugar/salt/meat/dairy/potatoes' 'Semi-vegetarian'. Higher adherence 'Processed' DP was associated higher odds due COVID-19, more severe disease, highest intensity 'Semi-vegetarian' lower less lowest Conclusions: showed strong harmful effect processed pattern an increased incidence northwestern Polish adults during emphasizing importance

With growing recognition of the pivotal role gut microbiota in human health, probiotics have gained widespread attention for their potential to restore microbial homeostasis. However, a critical challenge persists: limited colonization efficiency among most probiotic strains compromises therapeutic efficacy. This overview synthesizes ecological principles with cutting-edge microbiome research elucidate dynamic interplay between dietary components and within intestinal niche. systematically analyzes: (1) stage-specific mechanisms spanning introduction, establishment, proliferation; (2) nutrient-driven modulation composition function; (3) dual common patterns as both facilitators disruptors persistence. Notably, this identifies key strategies, including precision delivery prebiotic fibers polyphenol-microbiota crosstalk, that enhance niche adaptation through pH optimization, adhesion potentiation, competitive exclusion pathogens. Furthermore, critically evaluates current limitations research, particularly strain-specific variability methodological constraints simulating host-microbe-diet tripartite interactions. To bridge these gaps, proposes an interdisciplinary framework integrating omics-driven strain selection, engineered systems, personalized nutrition models. Collectively, work advances mechanistic understanding diet-microbiota interactions while providing actionable insights developing targeted therapies evidence-based interventions optimize ecosystem resilience.

This chapter explores the bidirectional relationship between gut microbiota and sports performance, providing a comprehensive synthesis of current scientific evidence. The influence on energy metabolism, inflammation, immune function in athletes is addressed, emphasising its potential role performance recovery. It also discussed how different intensities types exercise can impact differently, itself athletes. Various nutritional strategies are covered, such as dietary patterns use prebiotics, probiotics, symbiotics shape optimise performance. highlights importance approaches focusing athletes' being individualised tested, conclusions studies this area still mixed. concludes with call for standardised research methodologies to deepen understanding improve applications improvement.

A common consequence of Parkinson’s disease (PD) is constipation. Beyond its deleterious effect on the quality life in affected persons, constipation associated with gut microbiota dysbiosis and microbial-generated inflammatory metabolites, which may further progression. Management strategies are needed, diet, specifically higher fiber dietary patterns or supplements, be recommended. However, therapeutic effectiveness potential health benefits have been underexplored, risks unappreciated. This perspective addresses whether high-fiber diets supplements to support laxation efficacious, safe, generally feasible for people PD. Diverse sources from plant-based particularly critical balancing microbial production beneficial vs. although adherence such challenging. Supplemental needed manage symptoms. safety issues related supplementation, as appetite suppression, unintentional weight loss, risk malnutrition context neurodegeneration, must also considered. Slow colonic transit time defecatory disorders PD best managed high intakes bran hull fibers resistant fermentation, will significantly increase stool bulking. clinical trials confirm efficacy dose–response.
