Cancer stem cells (CSCs) are subpopulations of cancer sharing similar characteristics as normal or progenitor such self-renewal ability and multi-lineage differentiation to drive tumour growth heterogeneity. Throughout the progression, CSC can further be induced from differentiated via adaptation cross-talks with microenvironment well a response therapeutic pressures, therefore contributes their heterogeneous phenotypes. Challengingly, conventional treatments target bulk unable CSCs due highly resistance nature, leading metastasis recurrence.

Curcumin has been shown to have a wide variety of therapeutic effects, ranging from anti-inflammatory, chemopreventive, anti-proliferative, and anti-metastatic. This review provides an overview the recent research conducted overcome problems with bioavailability curcumin, preclinical clinical studies that reported success in combinatorial strategies coupling curcumin other treatments. Research on signaling pathways treatment targets shows it potently acts major intracellular components involved key processes such as genomic modulations, cell invasion death pathways. is promising molecule for prevention cancer.

Natural compounds obtained from plants are capable of garnering considerable attention the scientific community, primarily due to their ability check and prevent onset progress cancer. These natural used nontoxic nature fewer side effects they cause compared chemotherapeutic drugs. Furthermore, such products perform even better when given as an adjuvant along with traditional drugs, thereby enhancing potential chemotherapeutics simultaneously reducing undesired effects. Curcumin, a naturally occurring polyphenol compound found in plant

Cancer is a life-threatening disease and the second leading cause of death around world. The increasing threats drug-resistant cancers indicate that there an urgent need for improvement or development more effective anticancer agents. Curcumin, phenolic compound originally derived from turmeric plant (Curcuma longa L. (Zingiberaceae family)) widely known as spice coloring agent food have been reported to possess notable activity by inhibiting proliferation metastasis, enhancing cell cycle arrest apoptosis in various cancer cells. In spite all these benefits, therapeutic application curcumin clinical medicine its bioavailability are still limited due poor absorption rapid metabolism. Structural modification through synthesis curcumin-based derivatives potential approach overcome above limitations. Curcumin can disadvantages while overall efficacy hindering drug resistance. This article reports review published their enhanced activities.

Human mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) are primary multipotent capable of differentiating into osteocytes, chondrocytes, and adipocytes when stimulated under appropriate conditions. The role MSCs in tissue homeostasis, aging-related diseases, cellular therapy is clinically suggested. As aging a universal problem that has large socioeconomic effects, an improved understanding the concepts can direct public policies reduce its adverse impacts on healthcare system humanity. Several studies have been carried out over several years to understand phenomenon different factors affecting human aging. A reduced ability adult cell populations reproduce regenerate one main contributors process. In this context, senescence major challenge front advancement. Many factors, ranging from genetic metabolic pathways extrinsic through various signaling pathways, involved regulating mechanism MSC senescence. To better reverse senescence, review highlights underlying mechanisms signs discusses strategies combat

Colorectal cancer (CRC) is among the top three with higher incident and mortality rate worldwide. It estimated that about over than 1.1 million of death 2.2 new cases by year 2030. The current treatment modalities usage chemo drugs such as FOLFOX FOLFIRI, surgery radiotherapy, which are usually accompanied major side effects, rarely cured along poor survival at recurrence outcome. This trigger needs exploring natural compounds anti-cancer properties possess fewer effects. Curcumin, a common spice used in ancient medicine was found to induce apoptosis targeting various molecules signaling pathways involved CRC. Disruption homeostatic balance between cell proliferation could be one promoting factors colorectal progression. In this review, we describe knowledge regulation curcumin CRC regard molecular targets associated pathways.

Abstract Warburg effect is an emerging hallmark of cancer cells with pyruvate kinase M2 (PKM2) as its key regulator. Curcumin extensively-studied anti-cancer compound, however, role in affecting metabolism remains poorly understood. Herein, we show that curcumin inhibits glucose uptake and lactate production (Warburg effect) a variety cell lines by down-regulating PKM2 expression, via inhibition mTOR-HIF1α axis. Stable silencing revealed required for proliferation cells. over-expression abrogated the effects curcumin, demonstrating PKM2-mediated. High expression correlated strongly poor overall survival cancer, suggesting requirement progression. The study unravels novel PKM2-mediated inhibitory on metabolic capacities To best our knowledge, this first linking PKM2-driven glycolysis, thus, providing new perspectives into mechanism anticancer activity.
