Viruses and tumors are two pathologies that negatively impact human health, but what occurs when a virus encounters tumor? A global consensus among cancer patients suggests surgical resection, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, other methods the primary means to combat cancer. However, with innovation development of biomedical technology, tumor biotherapy (immunotherapy, molecular targeted therapy, gene oncolytic etc.) has emerged as an alternative treatment for malignant tumors. Oncolytic viruses possess numerous anti-tumor properties, such directly lysing cells, activating immune responses, improving microenvironment. Compared traditional immunotherapy, therapy offers advantages including high killing efficiency, precise targeting, minimal side effects. Although (OV) was introduced novel approach in 19th century, its efficacy suboptimal, limiting widespread application. since U.S. Food Drug Administration (FDA) approved first OV drug, T-VEC, 2015, interest grown significantly.
