PWH ICONA Cohort follow-up each of study periods were included: 01/09/2019-29/02/2020 (pandemic period) 01/03/2018-31/08/2018 (historical period, as a control). Risk temporary loss (LTFU, defined no data recorded for person one year) was analyzed by logistic regression, status main exposure variable. Background Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) significantly affects adolescents globally, with the sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) reporting a high burden of disease. HIV testing, treatment, and retention to care are low among adolescents. We conducted mixed-method systematic review assess anti-retroviral therapy (ART) adherence; barriers facilitators ART adherence outcomes living on in Africa. Methods searches four scientific databases for studies between 2010 March 2022 identify relevant primary studies. Abstract Background The COVID‐19 pandemic has had a profound global impact, with variations in susceptibility, severity, and mortality rates across different regions. While many factors can contribute to the spread impact of disease, specifically human leukocyte antigen (HLA) genetic variants have emerged as potential contributors outcomes. Methods In this comprehensive narrative review, we conducted thorough literature search identify relevant studies investigating association between HLA Additionally, analyzed allelic frequency data from diverse populations assess differences incidence severity. Results Our review provides insights into immunological mechanisms involving HLA‐mediated responses highlights research directions therapeutic interventions. We found evidence suggesting that certain alleles, such HLA‐A02, may confer lower risk COVID‐19, while others, like HLA‐C04, increase severe symptoms mortality. Furthermore, our analysis allele distributions revealed significant among populations. Conclusion Considering host variations, particularly variants, is crucial for understanding susceptibility These findings implications personalized treatment interventions based on an individual's profile. However, further needed unravel precise underlying observed associations explore targeted therapies or preventive measures variants.

Abstract Background Mental health (MH) is extremely relevant when referring to people living with a chronic disease, such as HIV (PLWH). In fact – although life expectancy and quality have increased since the advent of antiretroviral therapy (ART) PLWH carry high incidence mental disorders, this burden has been exacerbated during COVID-19 pandemic. scenario, UNAIDS set new objectives for 2025, linkage at least 90% people-centered, context-specific MH services. Aim study was determine prevalence MD in followed Clinic Infectious Diseases University Bari, Italy. Methods From January 10th September 10th, 2022, all patients accessing our outpatient clinic were offered following standardized tools: HAM-A anxiety, BDI-II depression, PC-PTSD-5 post-traumatic stress disorder, CAGE-AID alcohol-drug abuse. Factors associated testing positive four explored multivariable logistic regression model. Results 578 out 1110 HIV-patients agreed receive screening, 141 (24.4%) resulting one disorder. 15.8% ( n = 91), 18% 104), 5% 29) CAGE 6.1% 35). The showed higher probability being diagnosed depression disorder who reported severe stigma, social isolation, psychological deterioration pandemic those receiving dolutegravir (DTG)-based regimen. Moreover, history drug use (OR 1.13; [95% CE 1.06–4.35]), family stigma (2.42 [1.65–3.94]) isolation (2.72 [1.55;4.84]) found be risk substance Conclusions study, strong predictor among PLWH. Also, possible role factor onset disorders should considered clinical practice, DTG-containing regimens constantly monitored.

Several studies have shown different effects of telehealth interventions on adherence to Antiretroviral therapy (ART) among people living with HIV. This study conducted a meta-analysis Randomized Controlled Trials (RCTs) estimate the pooled effect treatment HIV patients. The researchers literature searches in Scopus, PubMed, Web Science, Google Scholar, and Cochrane Central Register databases. In addition, open grey was systematically searched until January 2022 for RCTs around ART patients Each study's methodological quality assessed using Collaboration tool. Pooled Standard Mean Differences (SMD) Risk Ratio (RR) 95% CI were calculated random model. In total, 12 eligible articles considered present systematic review. A random-effects 5 yielded RR 1.18 (95% CI: 1.03 1.35, p < 0.05); I2 = 0, suggesting who received intervention significantly 18% upper than control groups. Moreover, analysis SMD showed positive SMR 0.36 0.22 0.49, 91.9%, indicating that increased group compared group.Telehealth as new modality health care service delivery could be valuable strategy improve It can strengthen capacity services. We sought to determine how the COVID-19 pandemic affected care delivery for HIV patients in Ghana. Guided by Consolidated Framework Implementation Research (CFIR), we performed a cross-sectional study between May and July 2021 among 40 people living with 19 healthcare providers caring patients. In-depth interviews focus group discussions were done patients, doctors, nurses, pharmacists, laboratory scientists, data administrators, counselors ascertain barriers facilitators during pandemic. asked their input on removing this future pandemics. Data was analyzed thematically help of qualitative software MAXQDA. Pre-pandemic practices, such as using cards appointments making phone calls intra-pandemic measures, re-arranging clinic setup patient safety, contributed attendance. However, fear infection, transportation costs, stigma impeded Patients spent less time because stable received medication refills without seeing doctor. This meant many chronic diseases like hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia did not get necessary physician review pandemic's peak. Due pervasive stigma, cautious about home medications telemedicine solutions. While solutions visits may work primary or other conditions pandemics, makes these interventions unattractive options

Background and Objectives: People living with HIV/AIDS have been impacted notably by the COVID-19 pandemic in diverse dimensions. Although some impacts of on PLHIV well documented, there is still insufficient research that captures overall understanding implications for healthcare utilization among PLHIV. This review aims to evaluate impact PLHIV, narrowing it down women HIV/AIDS. Materials Methods: An electronic database search primary studies obtained information from health facility data regarding since 2020 was carried out according PRISMA statement. A combination terms, e.g., “COVID-19 pandemic”, “SARS-CoV-2”, “Health services utilization”, “People Human immunodeficiency virus”, included. Results: There an decline such as medical consultations, ART uptake, viral load monitoring at centers forefront care delivery. However, countries sub-Saharan African region showed a progressive service increase over pandemic. scarcity populations Other methods delivery telemedicine postage were instrumental HIV services. Conclusions: The reduced uptake need boost strengthen emergency preparedness particularly HIV/AIDS, during pandemics further harness maximize use contemporary other than traditional ones.
