Syndemics
theory
has
been
applied
to
study
interactions
between
biomedical
and
social
factors
leading
the
clustering
of
diseases.
Because
syndemics
focuses
on
that
enhance
risk,
concept
vulnerability
is
central
this
approach.
We
conducted
a
scoping
review
better
understand
how
theoretical
framework
helped
define,
operationalize,
tackle
issues
during
COVID-19
pandemic.
Original
research,
reviews,
opinion
pieces
elaborating
syndemics,
vulnerability,
COVID-19,
published

2019
October
2022
available
from
PubMed,
were
eligible.
analyzed
40
records
identified
three
framings
operating
period:
(1)
diseases/health
conditions,
specific
factors;
(2)
determinants
health;
(3)
impacts
populations.
Emerging
conceptualizations
described
as
systemic
issue,
explained
impact
control
measures
increased
presented
syndemic
its
own.
However,
theory’s
potential
for
deepening
our
understanding

constrained
by
superficial
explorations

Abstract
In
typical
times,
adolescents'
relationships
with
family
members
influence
changing
cognitive,
social,
and
physical
aspects
of
their
development.
The
COVID‐19
pandemic,
however,
impacted
the
full
system
in
ways
that
were
unprecedented.
Scholars
adolescence
worldwide
driven
to
understand
how
changed
due
these
dramatic
societal
shifts
had
on
well‐being.
This
systematic
review
examined
two
research
questions
189
articles
published
from
2020–2022:
(1)
How
has
pandemic
families
adolescents,
including
broader
functioning,
relationship
qualities,
parenting?
(2)
or
pandemic‐related
stressors
interacted
relationships,
parenting
adolescents
impact
adolescent
well‐being
adjustment?
Additionally,
examination
relevant
studies
divided
into
sub‐themes
influence:
(a)
environment
routines,
(b)
difficulties,
(c)
parent−adolescent
(d)
sibling
relationships.

Stress
is
an
important
risk
factor
for
modern
chronic
diseases,
with
distinct
influences
in
males
and
females.
The
sex

of

research
has
emerged
from
the
frontlines
of
COVID-19
pandemic,
as

ABSTRACT
Objective:
