Much attention has been recently drawn to studying melatonin - a hormone whose synthesis was first found in the epiphysis (pineal gland). This interest can be due discovering role of numerous physiological processes. It discovery endocrine organs gland), neural structures (Purkinje cells cerebellum, retinal photoreceptors), and immunocompetent (T lymphocytes, NK cells, mast cells) that triggered evolution new approaches unifield signal regulation homeostasis, which, at turn 21st century, lead creation integral biomedical discipline neuroimmunoendocrinology. While hormones have verified over last decade outside "classical" locations their formation, occupies an exclusive position with regard diversity where it is synthesized secreted. review provides overview discussion major data regarding various pathological processes, which affords grounds for considering as "cornerstone" on neuroimmunoendocrinology built concept homeostasis regulation.

Bone‑related diseases comprise a large group of common diseases, including fractures, osteoporosis and osteoarthritis (OA), which affect number individuals, particularly the elderly. The progressive destruction loss alveolar bone caused by periodontitis is specific type loss, has high incidence markedly reduces quality life patients. With existing methods prevention treatment, mortality bone‑related are still gradually increasing, creating significant financial burden to societies worldwide. To prevent occurrence delay their progression or reverse injuries they cause, new alternative complementary treatments need be developed. Melatonin exerts numerous physiological effects, inducing anti‑inflammatory antioxidative functions, resetting circadian rhythms promoting wound healing tissue regeneration. also participates in health management cartilage. In present review, potential roles melatonin pathogenesis injury, osteoporosis, OA summarized. Furthermore, efficiency diversity regulatory effects highlighted benefits use for clinical treatment discussed.

Melatonin, an indolamine mainly released from the pineal gland, is associated with many biological functions, namely, modulation of circadian and seasonal rhythms, sleep inducer, regulator energy metabolism, antioxidant, anticarcinogenic. Although several pieces evidence also recognize influence melatonin in reproductive physiology, crosstalk between sex hormones not clear. Here, we review effects differences circulating levels update current knowledge on link melatonin. Furthermore, explore gonadal steroidogenesis hormonal control females. The literature shows that despite strong impact profiles melatonin, reports are still considerably ambiguous, these may arise factors, like use contraceptive pills, status, deprivation. there has been inconclusive debate about characteristics reciprocal relationship hormones. In this regard, for role brought by research affects multiple transduction pathways modulate Sertoli cell physiology consequently spermatogenesis, estrogen progesterone production. From outcome our research, it possible to conclude understanding correlation crucial correction complications occurring during pregnancy, preeclampsia, climacteric symptoms.

Abstract Cancers are serious life-threatening diseases which annually responsible for millions of deaths across the world. Despite many developments in therapeutic approaches affected individuals, rate morbidity and mortality is high. The survival life quality cancer patients still low. In addition, poor prognosis side effects present treatments underscores that finding novel effective complementary alternative therapies a critical issue. Melatonin powerful anticancer agent its efficiency has been widely documented up to now. applies abilities through affecting various mechanisms including angiogenesis, apoptosis, autophagy, endoplasmic reticulum stress oxidative stress. Regarding implication mentioned cellular processes pathogenesis, we aimed further evaluate melatonin via these mechanisms.

Abstract The circadian clock exerts an important role in systemic homeostasis as it acts a keeper of time for the organism. synchrony between daily challenges imposed by environment needs to be aligned with biological processes and internal clock. In this review, is provided in-depth view molecular functioning clock, how system organized, central peripheral clocks communicate each other. sense, we provide overview neuro-hormonal factors controlled they affect tissues. We also evaluate signals released organs their effects other brain areas. Additionally, possible communication tissues novel layer organization reviewing recent studies literature. last section, analyze can modulate intracellular tissue-dependent metabolic organs. Taken altogether, goal review integrative function emphasis
