Although we previously reported that 2,3-dihydro-3,5-dihydroxy-6-methyl-4H-pyran-4-one has antioxidant properties, its effect on the skin remains unclear. This study aimed to investigate effects of beverages containing moisture. enrolled 220 healthy Japanese participants with dry who were randomly assigned test or placebo group (n = 110 each). Each received either a beverage for 12 weeks. The primary outcome was stratum corneum water content. Secondary outcomes transdermal loss, number blemishes and wrinkles, blood markers such as biological potential diacron-reactive oxygen metabolites. Visual analog scale used assess improvement. Stratum content visual scores differed significantly between groups. Water increased in compared at 4 8 Subjective symptoms improved intake placebo. No other significant adverse observed. In conclusion, 2,3-dihydro-3,5-dihydroxy-6-methyl-4H-pyran-4-one-containing consecutive weeks increases findings could aid development safe functional foods enriched this compound.

Exosomes, nanoscale vesicles involved in intercellular communication, have garnered significant attention for their potential drug delivery and therapeutic applications. This review provides a comparative analysis of mammalian-derived exosomes, particularly milk-derived plant-derived exosome-like nanoparticles (PDENs). It explores biogenesis, bioactivities, functional similarities, including roles cellular immune modulation, disease therapy. While exosomes exhibit promising biocompatibility stability targeted delivery, PDENs offer distinct advantages, such as scalability inherent derived from plant sources. Despite similarities structure cargo, differ lipid composition protein profiles, reflecting plant-specific functions. Emerging research highlights the managing inflammation, oxidative stress, other diseases, emphasizing utility food components nanocarriers. However, challenges related to chemical large-scale production require further investigation. underscores need advanced studies fully harness these natural nanocarriers drug-delivery systems interventions.

Plant-derived exosome-like nanovesicles (PELNs) from edible plants, isolated by ultracentrifugation, size exclusion chromatography or other methods, were proved to contain a variety of biologically active and therapeutically specific components. Recently, investigations in the field PELN-based biomedicine have been conducted, which positioned those as promising tools for prevention treatment several diseases, with their natural origin potentially offering superior biocompatibility bioavailability. However, inadequate targeting limited therapeutic effects constrain utility clinical translation PELNs. Thus, strategies aiming at bridging gap engineering PELNs great interest. Those approaches include membrane hybridization, physical chemical surface functionalization encapsulation payloads. Herein, we provide comprehensive overview biogenesis composition, isolation purification methods characterization PELNs, well functions. Current knowledge on construction biomedical application engineered reviewed. Additionally, future directions perspectives this discussed order further enrich expand prospects
