Q methodology in applied linguistics: A systematic research synthesis

Q methodology (Q) is a mixed-methods research used to systematically explore people's subjectivity. Despite an increasing number of theoretical and empirical studies in applied linguistics (AL) adopting this methodology, we found lack systematic syntheses examining how has so far served the field, especially considering complexity relation instrument creation, data collection analysis. To address gap, conducted database search map uses AL research, leading identification 55 studies. Dissecting subjective L2 (un)willingness to communicate among EFL learners: a Q methodology study

This study used Q methodology to explore the subjective perspectives of English as a Foreign Language (EFL) learners regarding sources willingness communicate (WTC). A sample 40 undergraduate students enrolled in an language teaching program at Turkish university was obtained. Based on their shared viewpoints, participants were clustered into three groups: self-assured communicators, motivated and nervous communicators. Self-assured communicators exhibited high levels self-confidence, while displayed strong unwavering motivation improve speaking skills. Nervous other hand, showed noticeable signs anxiety, impeding WTC. provides evidence that amalgamation internal external factors works synergy shape EFL learners' WTC classroom. Unraveling the multifaceted nature of job satisfaction among migrant healthcare interpreters/translators

Abstract This study employs Q methodology to analyze the job satisfaction of healthcare interpreters/translators who serve Myanmar migrant workers in Thailand. Unveiling engineering students’ challenges and coping strategies in English-medium instruction: a Q methodology study

Abstract English-medium instruction (EMI) is gaining popularity in higher education (HE) worldwide, with the aim of enhancing students’ English proficiency and professional abilities. However, many students still struggle learning various subjects English. While challenges EMI are widely discussed studies, it necessary to look into specific coping strategies employ. Using Q methodology, this study examines corresponding among engineering students. The participants included 47 current former undergraduate at a Thai university. Enjoyment in language teaching: a study into EFL teachers’ subjectivities

Abstract Although teacher enjoyment has been positively related to well-being and performance, little is known about the combination of perspectives experiences that contribute it. This study uses Q methodology identify, characterise compare divergent viewpoints tertiary-level English as a Foreign Language (EFL) teachers regarding within their professional context. ABSTRACTMoral distress (MD) is defined as knowing what to do in an ethical situation but being unable it. Although this definition was originally meant for healthcare practitioners, it instantly recognised by those the teaching profession.
