Little

we

remarkably
entangled
evolutionary
history

sequencing
genomes
34
major
lineages
covering
26
species.

early

separation
into
two
clades
centred
on
Iberian
Balkan
Peninsulas,
island
endemics.

compared

domestic
animals.
Its
adaptability

environmental

demonstrated
potential
for
breeding
improvement

genetic
