Non-Suicidal Self-Injury (NSSI) involves deliberately causing harm to one's body without the intention of suicide. As numbers adolescents presenting NSSI have been steadily increasing during last years, we intended investigate adolescent patients exhibiting NSSI, admitted our clinic-a Romanian child psychiatry inpatient clinic, over course five years. A total 100 (80 females, 20 males, mean age: 14.9 years) hospitalized for various neuropsychiatric disorders and engaging in self-harm were studied. The methods most frequently used sample were, female group: cutting (all), skin tearing (76%), scratching/pinching (72%), males: wound-healing hindrance (85%), striking objects (80%). initial motivations represented by distress (females 89%, males 90%) seeking pleasure 84%). In terms roles it was primarily emotional regulation 89%) anger management (males 90%). This study highlights prevalence adolescents, differences between genders, need more targeted therapy interventions. By documenting trends, investigating underlying functions, proposing hypotheses further research, findings offer valuable insights on potential increase awareness among clinicians specialists who interact with thus addressing escalating behaviours teenagers.

Background/Objectives: Adolescence is a developmental stage characterized by profound physical and psychological transformations, often leading to vulnerabilities such as body dissatisfaction, identity challenges, the use of maladaptive coping strategies. This leads body-related psychopathologies, including headaches, restrictive eating disorders, non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI). The present study aimed describe typical functioning features these conditions differences between three groups, identify most effective assessment for predicting conditions. Methods: Sixty adolescent patients (51 female; mean age = 15.34 ± 1.80) were divided into groups: NSSI, assessed in symptoms, cognitive performance, personality, functioning, illness severity using semi-structured interviews, clinician-based scales, performance-based tests like Rorschach inkblot test, according Performance Assessment System (R-PAS). Results: Individuals with headaches experienced more internalizing had an average IQ, maintained some areas, distorted patterns self–other relationships tendency project malevolent aspects onto others. Patients disorders high levels depressive above-average IQ scores, negative moderate presence obsessive–compulsive personality traits, disorganized thinking, interpret situations subjectively. NSSI showed highest level symptoms social anxiety considerable psychotic perceptual distortions. Negative borderline psychosis strongest predictivity. Conclusions: provides clinicians relevant insights highlights strategies, tailored interventions, enhanced outcomes vulnerable populations.

Non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI) and depressive symptoms are two major public health issues among adolescents. Moreover, they can often co-occur, which lead to additional negative outcomes, such as suicidal behaviors. Therefore, this study aimed explore the comorbidity patterns of NSSI provide valuable insights for future interventions. This examined relationship between via a cross-lagged panel network (CLPN). A total 866 Chinese junior high school students (39.80% girls, Mage = 12.73 years, SD 0.43) completed measurements during three time points. Comorbidity rates ranged from 10.51 15.13% results CLPN indicated that somatic retarded activity, affect, lack positive affect were strongly positively associated with multiple Conversely, burning cluster could negatively predict activity affect. In addition, depressed bridge linked symptoms. These demonstrate reinforcement feedback pathway symptoms, provides evidence intrapersonal NSSI. Furthermore, these findings identify core new ideas subsequent intervention treatments.

As risk for both non-suicidal self-injury and depression increases at adolescence, it is critically important to clarify equivocal findings regarding the temporal ordering of these health concerns. Addressing limitations past research, which included use only two data waves analyses that do not account within-person variance, aim in this study was examine depressive symptoms during adolescence. Two independent samples were examined. One sample (first used by Marshall et al., 2013) consisted 799 Swedish adolescents (11 15 years, Mage = 13.18, SD 0.74; 51% girls). The second a later cohort from same area (N 2760; aged 12 18 13.75, 49% Analyses two-part cross-lagged panel models (CLPMs) random-intercept (RI-CLPMs) semi-continuous distribution NSSI determine if traditional lagged adequate estimating ties. results suggest CLPMs had inadequate fits data. RI-CLPMs showed significant within-person, transactional associations between NSSI. Specifically, mean age around 13 years associated with one year later, turn when average about old. Subsequently, lags suggested potential maintenance comorbid distress. These efforts reduce adolescence need begin early focus on adaptive responses distressing emotional experiences.

Digital technology use (i.e. digital activity) has been proposed to contribute a decline in adolescents' mental health. We present new model of how risky activity may increase depressed mood via reciprocal pathways, creating negative developmental cycles. Specifically, we hypothesize that increases by evoking frequent and persistent affective (e.g. anger) cognitive reactions "I feel stupid"). These effects, postulate, are compounded when further both it. The also proposes these impacts can be mitigated actively managing it and/or the evokes. All pathways hypothesized moderated nondigital factors.
