The financial burden of burn injuries has a considerable impact on patients and healthcare systems. Information Communication Technologies (ICTs) have demonstrated their utility in the improvement clinical practice Because referral centres for cover large geographic areas, many specialists must find new strategies, including telehealth tools patient evaluation, teleconsultation, remote monitoring. This systematic review was performed according to PRISMA guidelines. PubMed, Cochrane, Medline, IBECS, LILACS were search engines used. Systematic reviews, meta-analyses, trials, observational studies included study search. protocol registered PROSPERO with number CRD42022361137. In total, 37 185 queried this eligible review. Thirty comparative studies, six one randomised trial. Studies suggest that allows better perception triage, more accurate estimation TBSA, resuscitation measures management acute burns. addition, some assess TH are equivalent face-to-face outpatient visits cost-efficient because transport savings unnecessary referrals. Digital technologies change the healthcare environment, with several studies suggesting barriers and facilitators to using digital interventions by professionals (HPs). We consolidated evidence from existing systematic reviews mentioning for use of health HP. Electronic searches were performed in five databases (Cochrane Database Systematic Reviews, Embase®, Epistemonikos, MEDLINE®, Scopus) inception March 2023. included that reported or factors technology solutions among data abstraction, methodological assessment, certainty appraisal at least two authors. Overall, we 108 involving physicians, pharmacists, nurses included. High-quality suggested infrastructure technical (Relative Frequency Occurrence [RFO] 6.4% [95% CI 2.9-14.1]), psychological personal issues (RFO 5.3% 2.2-12.7]), concerns increasing working hours workload 3.9% 1.5-10.1]) common HPs. Likewise, high-quality supports training/educational programs, multisector incentives, perception effectiveness facilitate adoption HPs 3.8% 1.8-7.9]). Background Several systematic reviews (SRs) assessing the use of telemedicine for musculoskeletal conditions have been published in recent years. However, landscape evidence on multiple clinical outcomes remains unclear. Objective We aimed to summarize available from SRs disorders. Methods conducted an umbrella review with and without meta-analysis by searching PubMed EMBASE up July 25, 2022, randomized controlled trials telemedicine. collected any kind patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs), experience (PREMs), objective measures, including direct indirect costs. assessed methodological quality AMSTAR 2 tool (A Measurement Tool Assess Reviews 2). Findings were reported qualitatively. Results Overall, 35 between 2015 2022 included. Most (n=24, 69%) rated as critically low 2. The majority “telerehabilitation” (n=29) patients osteoarthritis (n=13) using PROMs (n=142 mapped n=60 meta-analyses). A substantive body meta-analyses found be beneficial or equal terms compared conventional care (n=57 Meta-analyses showed no differences groups PREMs (n=4), while objectives (ie, “physical function”) mainly favor difference (9/13). All notably lower costs in-person visits. The included 1,926,300 patients with acute mild respiratory diseases and 1,031,174 gastrointestinal diseases. compared medication prescriptions, follow-up visit patterns, safety outcomes, including admissions emergency departments (EDs), general wards (GWs), intensive units (ICUs), between in-person visits. Results: Telemedicine linked higher prescription rates for both conditions, levels antibiotics use, longer durations. Patients who had an initial consultation were more likely have within 1 day. Conversely, those inclined use their early second There no significant differences ED or ICU admissions, except a slight increase GW conditions. Conclusion: can effectively complement conditions without compromising patient safety, suggesting its potential broader integration into care. Further studies are recommended optimize address any long-term impacts health delivery.
