A neural network regression model for predicting student learning success based on prior achievements DOI Creative Commons

The paper describes a project utilizing data analysis tools to predict student performance based on their prior achievements. task was addressed using historical educational from over 35,000 students span of seven years, containing information 1.24 million grades. Neural network regression were employed build models that future grades, thereby enhancing processes. predictive capability the model assessed coefficient determination and root mean square error (RMSE) through 10-fold cross-validation dataset into training testing sets. More than 70% developed grade prediction demonstrated greater 0.7, with RMSE predicted grades actual values being less one point five-point scale. This indicates satisfactory solution problem.

Al igual que está ocurriendo en países como Suecia, algunos centros españoles se encuentran la diatriba de retirar los dispositivos digitales las aulas primaria. El reciente informe PISA 2023 alerta un desplome del rendimiento académico alumnos españoles, identificando creciente exposición a pantallas podría contribuir estudiantes estén “más tiempos distraídos”. En misma línea, el PIRLS 2021 ya concluía entre 9 y 10 años han experimentado una disminución 7 puntos últimos años, asociándolo distracciones conexión Internet pueden estar generando clase. La presente investigación busca examinar, mediante meta-análisis revisión literatura científica, posiciones investigadores último lustro (2019-2023) acerca incorporación TIC educación Los resultados revelan mayoría estudios cuasi-experimentales (n=10) sobre correlación uso recursos digitales, engagement ha sido positivo, todo si esta viene acompañada estrategias metodológicas gamificación, flipped classroom o Aprendizaje Basado Proyectos (ABP). Esta pone manifiesto simple inclusión no es predictor mejoramiento, tantos autores alegado, quizá con demasiado entusiasmo, cierta medida algunas perspectivas utópicas.

Nowadays, digital competencies encompass skills and attitudes with technical, informational, content, media, communication aspects that are crucial for students future professionals. Hence, there is a need to investigate the possible correlations between demographic contextual variables development of in higher education. This paper reports on several university-student factors associated competencies. The work used quantitative approach descriptive statistical techniques such as means test Pearson correlation analysis. findings identified (a) statistically significant differences mean obtained previous semester gender students, (b) no final students’ institution origin, (c) included study significant. They also found attained by university had strong predictive power student performance; contrast, student’s high school origin variable was weak predictor their competency. presents implications practice research.

At the convergence of artificial intelligence with pedagogy, digital twin technology is emerging as a tool that offers advanced simulations and interactive learning environments. This because twins make it possible to replicate virtually any piece equipment or test items in laboratory. Based on above, objective this article explore thematic gaps regarding use teaching-learning process. For reason, bibliometric review study developed taking data publications indexed Scopus, during years 2018 2023. Through search equation, 92 were extracted. The was under quantitative approach at an exploratory-descriptive level. results demonstrated there growing sustained scientific production topic study, showing that, after COVID-19 pandemic, greater compared other years. Furthermore, although identified applicable different specialties higher education, determined extent, topics discussed are engineering education assisted by twins, virtual reality for training simulation-based through twins. This paper presents a process of development and validation methodological tool for supporting the co-design strategic actions to enhance digital competencies educators in higher education.
