Parabens are classified as endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs) capable of interfering with the normal functioning thyroid, affecting proper regulation biosynthesis thyroid hormones (THs), which is controlled by hypothalamic-pituitary-thyroid axis (HPT). Given crucial role these in health and growing evidence diseases related to dysfunction, this review looks at effects paraben exposure on thyroid. In study, we considered research carried out vitro vivo epidemiological studies published between 1951 2023, demonstrated an association parabens dysfunctions HPT axis. humans, increases thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) levels, while decreases TSH levels rodents. The THs also poorly described, well peripheral metabolism. Regardless, recent have shown different actions subtypes axis, allows us speculate that mechanism action different. Furthermore, more evident women than men. Therefore, future needed clarify their mechanisms

BACKGROUND Depression is a significant psychiatric disorder with particularly high prevalence among adolescents. This mental health condition can have severe consequences, including academic failure, social withdrawal, and suicidal behavior. Given the increasing rate of depression in this age group, understanding underlying biological mechanisms essential for early detection intervention. Recent studies suggested that immune markers play role pathophysiology depression, prompting further investigation their potential association depressive symptoms AIM To investigate relationship between (monocytes, lymphocytes, direct bilirubin) incidence severity METHODS cross-sectional study recruited 145 adolescent patients [male (M)/female (F) = 38/107] from Jiangbin Hospital Guangxi, Zhuang 163 healthy controls (M/F 77/86) routine check-ups. Blood samples were collected after an overnight fast. was measured using Zung Self-Rating Scale. The inclusion criteria 12-24 years, diagnosis (ICD-10), no recent antidepressant use. exclusion included comorbidities serious somatic diseases. Key statistical methods group comparisons correlation analyses. RESULTS There higher females (P < 0.001). Significant differences observed groups (Z 9.43, P had monocyte 3.43, 0.001) lymphocyte (t 2.29, 0.05) counts, serum bilirubin levels 4.72, Monocyte count varied significantly according to severity, lower counts mild -2.90, 0.05). Oxidative stress contributes to the development of cardiometabolic diseases and cancers. Numerous studies have highlighted adverse effects high reactive oxygen species (ROS) levels in progression chronic noncommunicable also during infections. On other hand, antioxidants play a crucial role preventing oxidative or postponing cell damage via direct scavenging free radicals indirectly Keap1/Nrf2/ARE pathway, among others. Dietary can be obtained from various sources, mainly through plant-based diet, including fruits vegetables. The dietary antioxidant index (DAI) has been developed assess total intake diet. This review delineated performance DAI risk assessment different diseases. It is suggested that score prevents obesity-related diseases, diabetes mellitus, hyperuricemia, dyslipidemia, metabolic (dysfunction)-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD). Additionally, negatively associated with Helicobacter pylori Human papillomavirus infection, thus reducing gastric cervical cancer. Also, osteoporosis, miscarriage, infertility, mental illnesses. However, further prospective observations clinical trials are warranted confirm application studied.
