Polyphenols are micronutrients found in fruits, vegetables, tea, coffee, cocoa, medicinal herbs, fish, crustaceans, and algae. They can also be synthesized using recombinant microorganisms. Interest plant-derived natural compounds has grown due to their potential therapeutic effects with minimal side effects. This is particularly important as the aging population faces increasing rates of chronic diseases such cancer, diabetes, arthritis, cardiovascular, neurological disorders. Studies have highlighted polyphenols’ capacity reduce risk factors linked onset illnesses. narrative review discusses polyphenol families metabolism, cardioprotective polyphenols evidenced from vitro studies, well vivo on different animal models cardiac disease. study explores molecular mechanisms underlying these benefits. Current research suggests that may protect against ischemia, hypertension, hypertrophy, heart failure, myocardial injury through complex mechanisms, including epigenetic genomic modulation. However, further studies under nutritionally physiologically relevant conditions, untargeted multigenomic approaches, needed more comprehensively elucidate firmly prove polyphenols.

The convergence of cardiovascular, kidney, and metabolic disorders at the pathophysiological level has led to recognition cardiovascular-kidney-metabolic (CKM) syndrome, which represents a significant global health challenge. Polyphenols, group phytochemicals, have demonstrated potential health-promoting effects. This review highlights impact maternal polyphenol supplementation on CKM offspring. Initially, we summarize interconnections between polyphenols each aspect syndrome. We then discuss in vivo studies that investigated use during pregnancy breastfeeding, focusing their role preventing syndrome Additionally, explore common mechanisms underlying protective effects supplementation. Overall, this underscores early-life interventions safeguarding against It emphasizes importance continued research advance our understanding facilitate clinical translation these interventions.

Lipid metabolism plays a crucial role in maintaining homeostasis and overall health, as lipids are essential molecules involved bioenergetic processes. An increasing body of research indicates that disorders lipid can contribute to the development progression various diseases, including hyperlipidemia, obesity, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), diabetes mellitus, atherosclerosis, cancer, potentially leading poor prognoses. The activation oxidative stress pathway disrupts induces cellular stress, significantly contributing metabolic disorders. A well-documented crosstalk interconnection between these exists. Consequently, researchers have sought identify antioxidant-rich substances readily accessible everyday foods for potential use complementary therapies. Curcumin, known its anti-inflammatory antioxidant properties, has been shown enhance activity, mitigate alleviate by reducing reactive oxygen species (ROS) accumulation. These effects include decreasing fat deposition, acid uptake, improving insulin sensitivity. review existing literature reveals numerous studies emphasizing curcumin prevention management diseases. Curcumin influences through multiple mechanisms action, with playing central Thus, we aimed elucidate unified mechanism offering new insights into treatment Firstly, this article provides brief overview basic pathophysiological processes metabolism, well pathogenesis Notably, reviews mitigating preventing treating diseases associated disorders, diabetes, thereby highlighting therapeutic metabolism-related

ABSTRACT Posterior capsular opacification (PCO) is the most common complication after cataract surgery characterized by hyperproliferation, migration and epithelial‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in residual lens epithelial cells (LECs). Curcumin a polyphenol compound possessing diverse pharmacological properties. Here, we investigated functions its potential mechanisms of curcumin PCO using transforming growth factor beta2 (TGF‐β2)‐treated LECs. Cell phenotypes were analyzed MTT, 5‐thynyl‐2′‐deoxyuridine (EdU), transwell, scratch assays, respectively. Levels FGF7 (Fibroblast Growth Factor 7), ZEB1 (Zinc finger E‐box binding homeobox 1), EMT‐related proteins detected qRT‐PCR western blot analysis. The protein interaction between was validated Co‐immunoprecipitation assay. treatment weakened TGF‐β2‐induced proliferation, migration, invasion EMT progression expression boosted Functionally, deficiency suppressed LECs, could reverse suppressing action on LEC dysfunction. Mechanistically, directly interacted with ZEB1, regulate via FGF7. Moreover, overexpression abolish protective effects or LECs under TGF‐β2 stimulation. In conclusion, protected against enhancement process regulating FGF7/ZEB1 axis, suggesting new insight into application therapy.

Patients with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) commonly have cardiometabolic risk factors. Oxidative stress (OS) significantly contributes to the development of diseases. Curcumin (CUR) exhibits antioxidant properties that aid in OS regulation. This systematic review and dose-response meta-analysis randomized clinical trials (RCTs) evaluated effects CUR supplementation on factors women PCOS.
