Abstract
Mild
cognitive
impairment
(MCI)

Abstract
Zinc
finger
E-box
binding
homeobox
1
(ZEB1)
is
a
master
modulator
of
the
epithelial–mesenchymal
transition
(EMT),
process
whereby
epithelial
cells
undergo
series
molecular
changes
and
express
certain
characteristics
mesenchymal
cells.
ZEB1,
in
association
with
other
EMT
transcription
factors,
promotes
neuroinflammation
through
production
inflammatory
mediators,
morphology
function
immune
cells,
multiple
signaling
pathways
that
mediate
response.
The
ZEB1–neuroinflammation
axis
plays
pivotal
role
pathogenesis
different
CNS
disorders,
such
as
brain
tumors,
sclerosis,
cerebrovascular
diseases,
neuropathic
pain,
by
promoting
tumor
cell
proliferation
invasiveness,
formation
hostile
micromilieu
surrounding
neuronal
tissues,
dysfunction
microglia
astrocytes,
impairment
angiogenesis,
blood–brain
barrier.

downregulated
