Cognitive impairment is one of the common clinical manifestations depression, causing negative distress to patients. Elevated homocysteine (Hcy) concentrations and gut microbiome dysfunction may be observed in patients with depression. To investigate relationship between Hcy, microbiome, cognition depressive We recruited 67 major disorder (MDD) (MDD group) 94 healthy controls (HCs) individuals (HCs group). Serum Hcy levels were determined using enzyme circulation method. 16s rRNA sequencing was used classify identify fecal bacteria. 17 Hamilton depression rating scale MATRICS consensus cognitive battery evaluate mood states MDD. Correlation analysis performed explore correlation flora, function. serum seen MDD compared individuals. Patients indicated significant decreases scores (P < 0.001) six modules: Speed processing, working memory, visual learning, reasoning problem-solving, social cognition, total scores. showed a processing speed, 0.05). also significantly negatively correlated Alistipes, Ruminococcae, Tenericides, Porphyromonas Our results highlight that This interaction related physiological pathological mechanisms underlying deficits

Background Numerous pertinent investigations have demonstrated a correlation between gut microflora (GM) and the occurrence of dementia. However, causal connection GM dementia its subtypes has not yet been clarified. Objective To explore association dementia, including subtypes, two-sample Mendelian randomization (TSMR) analysis was used. Methods Our data comes from Genome-Wide Association Study (GWAS). The principal approach employed for study inverse-variance weighted method, supplemented by four methods: MR-Egger, median, simple mode, mode. This followed Cochrane’s Q test, MR-Egger intercept MR-PRESSO global leave-one-out as sensitivity validation. Results Twenty-one GMs associated with any Alzheimer’s disease, vascular Lewy body Parkinson’s under other disease classifications were derived analysis, 21 passed tests. Conclusion We confirmed relationship specific flora increased or decreased risk provided new ideas preventive, diagnostic, therapeutic interventions mediated microbiota.

Non-communicable diseases (NCDs) pose a global health challenge, leading to substantial morbidity, mortality, and economic strain. Our review underscores the escalating incidence of NCDs worldwide highlights potential regenerative agriculture (RA) products in mitigating these diseases. We also explore efficacy dietary interventions NCD management prevention, emphasizing superiority plant-based diets over those high processed foods red meat. Examining role gut microbiome various diseases, including liver disorders, allergies, metabolic syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease, colon cancer, we find compelling evidence implicating its influence on disease development. Notably, modifications can positively affect microbiome, fostering symbiotic relationship with host making this critical strategy prevention treatment. Investigating agricultural practices, identify parallels between soil/plant human studies, suggesting crucial link soil health, plant- animal-derived food quality, well-being. Conventional/Industrial (IA) characterized part by use chemical inputs, have adverse effects diversity, ecosystems. In contrast, RA prioritizes through natural processes, includes avoiding synthetic crop rotation, integrating livestock. Emerging suggests that from systems surpasses IA-produced quality nutritional value. Recognizing interconnection human, plant, microbiomes, promoting RA-produced emerges as improve environmental sustainability. By climate change impacts carbon sequestration water cycling, offers dual benefits for planetary Emphasizing pivotal diet practices combating addressing concerns, adoption regional becomes imperative. Increasing integration into local enhance availability, affordability while safeguarding planet's future.
